Picked Up Another 2Fiddy!

So, today i picked up another 250. The whole purpose of getting it is to make profit off of it, and thats exactly what im going to do. It is a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250 with 9100 miles. I picked it up for $975. Heres details on it.
-Left side scratched up.
-Needs carb cleaned(only runs when choke is on)
-Possible valve adjustment
-Needs new handlebars L & R
-Needs new clutch lever
-Needs new L blinker
-Needs new fluids
-And there are some other odds and ends that may be scratched or bent.

Overall it looks pretty good, and i think I got a good deal for $975. Im hoping to fix it up and turn around and sell it for at least 1500-2000.

So what do you guys think? Here are some pictures of its scars.

Theres no way ill make more money parting it out. I should be able to get the handlebars and all the other parts i need for somewhere around $100.

The bike rides and stops fine and in a straight line. Nothing bent as far as now. Well besides handle bars.

Guy was in a parking lot going 20-30mph, and he was turning and hit a patch of sand and it threw him off, and the bike slid a good ways, hence the big ole patch of corner missing.

They seem to sell for around 1500-2000 around here for ones in nice running condition. There is a high demand in this area and it is close enough to Newnan, GA for someone serious about buying a bike to travel to.

How much does titling/registration and taxes cost you there. Can't sell what you don't own.

Is there really much money to make here? IDK

Shouldnt cost more that $20 to get the title transfered under my name. Hopefully parts wont cost more than $100. Money definently to be made. Even if i sold it for $1500.

Just buy in winter and sell it in spring. You get to use it and still make money.

And then like $80 for sales tax. But I still believe you can easily come out ahead if nothing else is wrong with the bike.

Indeed. I made two unexpected trips there. Once to bring a friend home after a visit (he recently moved there and has since moved to TX) and once recently to bring a friend back to Newnan after he decided that he couldn't stay there. What is it about TN that sends everyone running?

Sales tax? For what? I just got the title transfered to my name today for $18, and i can legally sell it now. No sales tax at all

What?

Didn't you have to put the sale price on the title before you transferred it into your name?? And that is where the sales tax comes from. I know I had to when I bought my bike.

I dunno? I think we put how much we sold it for on there, but no sales tax at all. Maybe because it was a private sale? I honestly have no clue...

Most states, including GA, do not charge sales tax for private sales.

Ahhh man! You guys are lucky!!!!

I guess it is because TN doesn't have individual income taxes so they have to make it up in other ways or something. Idk.

So guys, sure enough all it needed was a carb cleaning! Just spent about 2 hours figuring out how to get the SOB off and cleaned her out. All the jets were clogged with junk. Blew some carb cleaner and compressed air in them, put them back together, and she starts, and stays on without the idle! She purrs like a kitten

Now i just need to find some handlebars so the throttle wont stick...

damn. Ohio charges sales tax on private sales. In order to transfer the title, you have to claim a sale price and pay tax.

Mmmmhm. I think you might be on to something there. I'll try this next time I buy a used bike. I am sure it will work.
