Problem with 250

To start off i have been lurking these boards for a while and i enjoy the tech articles and the DIY threads. Second i have a problem with my 2008 250r. I recently changed my front fairing, of course everyone knows that u have to take off the right and left ones also.

Well to get to the problem, when i started my ninjette the other day it was running rough, almost seemed like it was running on one cylinder. After starting it up and allowing enough time to warm up with it choked i released the choke and it idled really really low, like 500rpms. Well i got on it and road it home because i was on campus and while i was riding it was bogged down alot, then all of a sudden, BAM it kicked in and jerked me back. After that it road fine till i stopped again and then it started idling low again, took off from the top light and was bogging really bad, then BAM another kick and it was going again. Got home and it died. So i went out to start it again today and it hard started really bad and if i would put the choke on to warm it up it would die. Still sounded liek it was running on one cylinder again.

So today i decide to check it out and take off the right fairing and look at the ignition and move the three wires connected to thte pack for the one side. The white wire seemed to move slitely, nothing drastic. I start it up and it runs fine and i put it all back together and it road around the block and seemed fine. So i decided to let it cool off and see what it will do after i eat, but i am stumped.

On a side note, everything looked fine for vacuum lines to the carbs and the other side ignition wires seemed ok. The fuel is set to on not prime, and when i started the bike with all the fairings on before i had removed them the second time it did the same thing running rough and idle wierd, but after i removed them it ran fine. Wonder if i had pinched something on the reinstall of the fairings.

Any help would be good and any ideas welcomed. Just to put it into perspective before hand i had laid the bike over before and nothing mechanically was wrong with it just cosmetic. it only started doing this after i replaced the front fairing which entails taking everything off the front of the bike fairings wise.

Thanks in advance,
Mitchell

yeah, guy in dallas and he got it from a girl before. Said he had never dropped it and niether had she. It has been driving good for a bout 300 miles and now it started this. But i just went out there and now it started fine and ran fine, don't know. Maybe it was a pinched vacuum line or something. We will see, im gonna shim and remove the snorkel tomorrow and i will look at stuff more closely then. Any idea on what to look for when i do take it apart.

That sounds a lot like a loose wire cable in the ignition system, check the plug wires and the plugs to see if they are broke or broke and staying together.

i am guessing that maybe thats what the slight movement of the white wire onh the ignition was, but it was still connected to the post on the ignition module. I am just not sure, when i looked everything looked together. Ill be able to have more time to check tomorrow.

and now i stand corrected he has a cp blue, read a little deaper into thread, i also seen both of them on campus considering i go to A&M also. I hop mine was just a loose connector that i said sat back on the a little. well see when i try to go to class tomorrow.

But again i don't beleive this is the same guy, my mom and dad told me that the guy said he bought it from a girl who lived in east texas, then he brought it up there and put like 1000 miles on it and had to sell it cause of job issues. So i am pretty sure its not the same bike

this doesnt sound like a wire-, more like a sparkplug-problem. maybe one of them(plugs) are beginning to give up.
