jetting & shimming

Hello all, this is my first post. My son has a 2009 250R special edition. He has purchased a growler muffler for it and I am planning on doing the 2 shims on the needles. My question is will that be enough, or should I also be rejetting and if so what jetting is recommended?
Thanks for the input.

2 shims should be fine for a slip-on muffler.

I am running the K&N airpod and stock exhaust and the bike has a 100 main jet, stock 38 pilot, and 2 shims under the needle and runs fantastic. It has aftermarket Dynojet needles though with the e-clip on the 3rd slot down from the top, I believe this is close to the factory needle though. 2 shims should be great for the bike and you may even be able to slightly up the jetting.
