Protecting some damaged parts from rust

So I have dropped my Ninja and accumulated some scratches. No big deal right? Well it has been worsening because some of the metal areas which were scratched up such as:
- Exhaust
- Handlebar Ends

have started to rust at the scratched locations. Doh.

Anyone have any advice on a rust remover and some sort of clear sealant that would be good at keeping the rust away? I don't plan to repair this cosmetic damage for quite some time.

You can remove the rust from the exhaust with a stainless steel pot scrubber like this:

Another option for removing surface rust on chrome

is number 0000 steel wool. Steel is fairly soft relative to chrome so it won't scratch it any more than it may already be. (The more zeros, the finer the steel wool.)

Chrome is porous so rusts easily, it's more of a decorative finish than a protective finish. Not sure about waxing exhaust cans because of the temps but waxing chromed things like wheels and fittings is a good idea.

On Chrome, Coca Cola and some aluminum foil works great. Dip the scrunched up aluminum foil in Coke and gently rub the rusted area--rust gone. Follow that up with some car wax. The bar ends can easily be touched up with Rustoleum.

I found that kangeroo urine and your toothbrush works the best on rust. you can also use it the clean the inside of your helmet and face shield.

Fox urine works as well---problem is that it smells quite bad. It is, however, more common than Kangeroo urine.

It might be difficult to acquire Megan Fox urine, but I am sure the hunt would be enjoyable!
