Anyone own a Yamaha v star?

Working on my v star 650. I'm replacing the clutch. That's not the issue. The exhaust is.. I have to drop the exhaust on the front, but there isn't enough room to slide it off the bolts. It hits the frame. I manged to work the clutch cover off by loosening the exhaust, but going back on will be an issue.

Anyone know any tricks to get it off? Both the nuts came off with ease. Im not sure if the studs can come out or not.

The picture is horrible and sideways. The exhaust rest right above the frame. That's the lowest it'll go.

I've never heard of the Yahama. Is it a Barack Yahama?

Is the heat shield of the exhaust what's hitting the frame? If so, take that off first. Take that off first anyway. Can you send a short video of the issue? I've worked on a lot of these @scotty

Yes, the heat shield is off. If the studs on the exhaust were a just a hair shorter, I'd be good. I'll post a video and a few pictures tonight. I got my new clutch in the mail today so I would like to get it rolling. @Finesse

sounds good I'll check back tonight. that stuff is infuriating. the v star 1100 you have to drop the exhaust to change the oil filter.

You can see the exhaust is touching the frame and the other picture, you can see how much of the studs are still showing.

@scotty try taking those allen bolts off the engine, I believe they are holding on fake engine cover type things. if that is the case it should give you the clearance you need
