Steering damper for 08 Ninja 250R

anyone has any method to mount a steering damper on a 08 Ninja 250R? Might not need it on this little bike but I like the extra security nevertheless

Here's a cheap 37mm fork leg bracket: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dayto...#ht_500wt_1418

You'll need to attach the other end to the fairing stay. Some guys are welding a threaded tab in the middle. You could probably fab up something with a couple slip brackets as well.

Thanks Richard. I talked to Dan Kyle (kyleusa.com) and he said he is working on one for the 08 250R. Let's hope he'll get it done soon

Does it make a huge difference if you use different points to mount it? Geometry and leverage wise...

I emailed Scotts and they DO have a damper available for our bike. It's $400...but a heck better unit than HyperPro from all the reviews I've read. It's actually manufactured by Ohlins for Scotts. It's a rotary unit.

You might get it cheaper if you buy it through a retail dealer who gets a discount from Scotts. $400 is straight up retail pricing. i'm in a process of selling my left kidney to get one...any taker??

haha I was just reading about this and the huge debate on kawiforums last night, people straight clownin on having one for this bike.. but i still want one as I see my steering wheel wobble when I let go to stretch myself on downhills for example. also scary on bumps I hit while in corners.. kinda scary for me. now the debate between the cost and benefits

Hmm how much do they charge for shipping a kidney? Who'd you use? I would think USPS wouldn't be a good choice for this type of package. Did you send it on ice? Details and possible pics

dry ice is the only way to go. I receive frozen shipments on the regular and they are ran thru UPS packed heavy with dry ice. you are on your own for kidney removal.

they just took it out, sliced it up and ate it like sushi....no shipping needed. They said it was a delicacy. I was going to try a piece but just couldn't bring myself to eat myself

Steering damper

Today I got an offer for a steering damper, maybe anybody else is interested. It looks like the one from Scotts.
The price is 380 USD, for shipping please ask Carsten at Faddybike2@aol.com
I am sorry, but I have to change the price since Carsten told me the first one was wrong.

Correct me if im wrong but the scotts you have to weld on the post?. In that case GPR is the easiest way.

Ive used both in my dirt bike applications, scotts is stunning but i like the gpr since it has one adjustment. Im one of those people that wont leave the settings alone and the scotts has 3 to play with
