I've considered it, but I'm not sure it's a winner. It's like internet rubbernecking. Those that want to share tend to put it up in General, those with questions about how not to end up in Riding Skills. My normal guidelines on whether to add a new forum subsection are whether the subforum will have enough useful content to stand on its own. A decent metric would be at least 25 - 50+ threads on the forums right now that would all be included in that section, and enough ongoing traffic in there to keep it active. There might be enough for this, but I haven't started counting crash threads recently. How about a poll....

No guarantees that I'll go with the poll winner immediately, but if it turns out my hunch is off-base, it's good info for me to gather.

mmm... I don't know. It might serve like a highlight on crashing in a non productive way. Perhaps all crash threads should redirected to the "Riding Skills" forum?

I think a crash subforum could be useful. It would be good if the crash reports were written such that lessons could be learned from them. I don't think it would be a good place to post third party crash reports, say from newspapers, friends of friends, that sort of thing.

Crash subforums are like democratic socialism. If everyone takes responsibility, they are highly productive. But once someone decides they know better than others, conflicts erupt and everyone starts avoiding the area.

I vote nay. If anything I'd say a couple of the forums could be consolidated as is. Crashes could just go in general motorcycle discussion, or maybe more appropriately riding skill.

I agree. I feel that crash reports are fine in riding skills. I mean, after all, it is riding skill or lack thereof that is usually the difference between a crash and a near miss.
