Site back up.
Sorry about that. I was upgrading a whole pile of software components on our server, and after I did so I couldn't get the database server (mysql) to restart. It turns out that one of the variables set in the older version doesn't exist in the new version, and that was keeping it from coming back up. All should be well at this point.
