how can I stop all the e-mails?
I get a bunch of e-mails from here every time someone posts in a thread, in which I posted...

Yup - that'll fix it for all future threads that you post in.
 But you will still be subscribed to all of your existing threads with email notification. If you want to stop notification from those older threads, go to the "Subscribed Threads" link under quick links, and edit any/all of them to stop the emails if you choose.
