Ninja, z$00 differences?
As a completely newbie, I was wondering what the differences are between notes Ninja and the Z400 an why someone might choose one over the other.

They are the exact same bike mechanically with these changes to create Z400:
- no fully-coverage bodywork, a naked sport bike - no windshield - slightly softer suspension - taller handlebars - mirrors mounted on handlebars Basically a more "standard" bike like old UJM versus a "sport" bike. More comfortable due to more upright seating position. Although some people complain about seeing a lot of their elbows in mirrors. A lot of naked bike users end up putting windshields on later to reduce wind noise and buffeting at at highway speeds. |

Full coverage insurance would probably be less on the unfaired bike. Im not sure if its that big of a deal on these smaller bikes but it is for the 600s and 1000s.

They are very similar
I looked at both and selected the Ninja because of the wind protection. I will do some commuting on the highway. The Ninja has clip-on's and looks like a sportbike but it's very comfortable. It rides more like a standard motorcycle, IMHO. Not a severe riding position. I am 5'7" and 190 pounds.
