Long story short
Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum!
So, its been a while sense I posted, a lot has happened and it was all really really stupid. This story has somewhat to do with what was posted here: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=89441 To recap, She became pregnant with a child that I believed to be mine. At the time I had sold my explorer and had a crummy car and my Ninja. Thinking the baby is mine, I sell my ninja to get a decent car. A few months later when the baby is born, I'm hearing rumors about the possibility that she was with another guy around the time the baby was conceived.. July 2012, baby is born and I don't find out till 4 days later. by this time I have heard more and more rumors of her sleeping with her ex so I ask her to take a DNA test and I would pay for it. She refuses and so I get a court order. Well a few months later when I get a court order, she skips state. I had sold my Ninja, possibly lost my first child (not 100% sure its mine) and had a beater car. life was sucking pretty bad. 8 Months with no motorcycle. I even missed the sunniest day of the summer to ride. side story: The kid I sold the bike to, well that was funny. He had a scooter that count not top 35 and was a automatic. He did not know anything about riding a real motorcycle. After he gave me the money he became upset because he could not start it. I had to explain the safety measures to prevent you from slamming into a wall on start up. So 30 second lesson of turning on the bike and shifting then I had to leave.. I'm certain it has been dropped several times. Anyways, I do have some good news. And its not that you can save 15% or more. Less than 48 hours ago, this guy got a brand new 2013 Ninja 300! Was not even setup yet. I put the first mile on it. Its beautiful. So very beautiful. 4k down $117 for full coverage (I know right...) A mini review: Instant Throttle response is amazing, extremely, stable, already put 70 Miles on it. I will admit the brakes do seem to be soft but that could be just me. Instrument cluster is beautiful and it sounds awesome. Still has a sad horn. One more thing unrelated/related: When I'm riding I cover the clutch, however I do not cover the front break. I'm double jointed and Have small hands so when I cover the break I lose throttle control and my fingers lock straight so I have to collapse my hand into a fist to then they will bend. So I mostly ride without covering the front break. Anyone have any good ideas on how to figure out a work around? I feel slower breaking when I'm not covering but if my fingers lock up, then that time increases even more. It does not however happen with my left hang sense I'm not shifting my hand position. I think its because I'm continually moving my throttle hand. Ok end of boring story ( More Pics to come) |

Are you sure you can afford that bike? With child support payments for two kids that aren't your's and having to get a lawyer to try and fight her, and lose, because guys always lose. Enjoy it while you can. It might be short lived!

I could have bought it out right, but i need to build my credit. No child support payments because the state cant prove the baby is mine sense she left. if she does come back, I have more than enough to gain custody. She is not a good person and left plenty of evidence. Besides, because she skipped out of state during a pending state case. She has a bench warrant. I hope she comes back, because I would woop her in court, its why she left in the first place, if the baby is mine, she knows she would lose.

I live in WA, if I don't ride just because the rain. Well, that gives me about a week worth of riding weather. It was beautiful the morning I bought it, 40 degrees, sunny, then as soon as I rolled it out the door. Rain.

I never accepted legal responsibility for the first child, I'm stupid but not retarded. I would have to sign as a legal father, not doing that unless its mine.

So your thinking bringing the lever closer to the throttle? Will that cause the breaking to be more sensitive sense the space between the lever and the throttle be closer?

no, an adjustable lever will only change the start position of the lever and the length of pull available. The braking power for the same amount of lever pressure itself should theoretically be equivalent to the stock lever. Although you may possibly run out of pull length if you panic stop. If that is the case then the braking power will be capped at the point where the lever hits the grip.
