Exclamation New S.F. East Bay Ninjette specific moto service shop

So my offer to always help others with their two wheeled machines whether it be motorized or pedal powered is and always will be available. But with me being totally broke and in debt I finally ready to start taking it a bit more serious. If you have something to need help with that's simple like "my bike is kinda shaky is this a problem" Then sure I'll take it for a quick spin and give you my advise for free like I always have. In the past I've helped @Jiggles with his ninja 1000 and @CycleCam303 numerous times with all his bikes.

But now I'm offering one on one instruction for bike maintenance so you can learn how to adjust your chain, change the oil, clean the air filter, change brake pads and so on. I'm also offering valve adjustments by me or an instructional class where you do the work and I instruct @CycleCam303 & @iceknyght got a taste of this last weekend)

Depending on what needs to be worked on I'll also do other bikes street, dirt, pedal as well, but if it's something I think best left up to the manufacture specific shop then I'll be the first to say so.

also I can change and balance tires for $15 per wheel off the bike or $30 per wheel on the bike.

Prices are TBD but I'm sure at less then 1/2 of what the dealer would charge we can both be happy

Is this something anyone would be interested in or have I now crossed the line into taking advantage of my fellow ninjette members

Assuming that "exciting things to do" means trying to figure out what the cows have been eating based on the general stench in the air.

That's definitely Bakersfield but lets not pretend that Fresno isn't basically one big truck stop + cows.

I learned a lot last weekend during Jason & Cam's tear down and definitely could see Jason doing a good job teaching others!

I still need to acquire all my parts, but once I do, I'll be asking for help on mine, that's for sure... Plus, with you being local, that's awesome for me...

Hope you were able to get your wheels mounted up OK especially with that huge rear tire . Tires are about the only thing I do at the Livermore shop so if you need anything else feel free to swing by my place in Brentwood and I'll take a look.

Just for price reference on the tire changing... Cycle Gear charges $40 each (off the bike) if you didn't buy the tire from them. Or $20 each if you did buy the tires from them.

Cool to know but damn that's expensive.

I'd be so much easier to wear the tires around your waist and ride the whole bike over and get them changed that same hour(must make apointment).

Yeah I've rebuilt the top end of my 4 stroke dirt bike but that as far as I've gone. I could figure out the ninja 250 no problem I think I wouldn't feel right learning on your bike. I'd be more up to the challenge after I rebuild my 250s motor but I hope it last me quite a bit longer.

Why do you need your motor rebuilt?

Bottom end, i think is gone. Misses shifts left & right. Retainer spring is Ok ... I would like to split the cases and inspect the transmission.

I can use this motor as the guinea pig if you want, i have a spare 2012 motor to which i can transfer the current head which is milled.

I need to learn but under a watchful pair of experienced eyes

That's a quite a job with a lot of parts to go through and most likely multiple days plus time to order replacement parts I'm thinking. I'm tempted to say yeah just bring it down and lets do it but currently my garage looks like several bicycles exploded into a million pieces and are just scattered everywhere so I need to finish the project first. If your in a hurry to get it done you can also consider that DIY(under watchful eye) shop in S.F. where you rent a work bay and tear into your bike and they help and answer any questions along the way. I can't remember the shops name but several members on here use them from time to time.

I know Patryk who races AFM in the 250 has torn into a couple 250 to rebuild the trans so I'll talk to him to get a better idea of the general idea for a time frame to get the job done.

I'm thinking with this MTB build and the 4 24hr moto and MTB races I have in the next 2 months I'm going to be rather swamped but after those I should have a lot more time but we'll see, maybe we'll get to it sooner.

Just as a reference I've had craigslist ads running for a little over a month just changing tires after work and on the weekends in the St. Louis area and have made $1500+.

Just this week I upped my prices from what your charging to $20 and $40. I charge forum members less than posted though.

Right now I'd say my business is half cruisers, quarter sport bike, quarter sport tourer.

That's cool ill see about giving that a shot. I can't say I'm in it to make money, I was more about offering help to our local forum members. But $1500 when you put it that way it a very tempting thing.

Do you do it at your house? Call me paranoid but I don't let just anyone know where I live or invite them into my garage. I don't need a bunch of strangers scoping out all my toys. I can have people stop by my work but its not my company so I don't want them coming during the day and I'm not there on the weekends.

How do you advertise your times of operation or scheduling? If you can post a link to your add if you can, it'd be cool to see how you went about doing it.

@rojoracing53 I'm hitting the 15k mi. service mark. A lot of the stuff has been done recently, (ie. brakes, chain, sprockets, oil, coolant, valve adjustment, air filter) but looking at the service schedule, I'm going to need help with servicing the swingarm and steering stem bearings. Maybe replace the cylinder head bolts while I'm at it since I was informed they're ****ed up. General inspection probably needed as well since I don't necessarily know what to look for. Would you be able to teach me how to do that stuff and what would be the cost? Aside from the cylinder head bolts, any replacement parts might I need to get?
