As discussed, us MD'ers want to get together but we're all pretty spread out from each other. We are going to meet at a designated location to eat, chat, take pics, etc...

If you and other riders are in more of a local area with each other, you should get together and meet somewhere prior to, and then ride to the designated meeting place.

Since most of us might be traveling pretty far, I would think the ideal meeting time should be about noon.

(Yes, @Stingray1000 you can come, too. In fact, anyone in the surrounding MD area is welcome!)

For those interested:

1.) post a comment and let me know you're interested, and the name of your town or where you're riding in from.

2.) the day before the meet, I'll keep a close eye on weather conditions. It will be up to the rest of you if you continue to go if it rains. (I'm putting it out there now: if it rains, I will not! :P However, we can always drive and meet anyways, just to do it.)

3.) the day before the meet, PM me your name (first name & forum name) and your cell # if you want me to communicate via text that day.

4.) please suggest where we should go/meet up because other than the area I live in (Howard Co/Anne Arundel Co) I don't really know what else is out there. Locations to be considered is someplace easy to get to/find, not alot of traffic congestion, and a nice sized parking lot (for us to do wheelies & stunts - haha.)

Another start suggestion is in Sunshine, MD intersectin of route 650 and 97. We can hit backroads which are friendly for newbies and maybe go to Gettysburg, pa?

I see alot of guys from silver spring, howard, and montgomery. We should meet out of the cities so we can start riding. expect to ride to the meet up start point about 1 hour or so. No big deal. Its all about the ride.

That's what I was suggesting in the beginning thread - that people should meet up that are local to each other before we all meet together at one designated spot.

In the other thread, I was under the impression that no one wanted to ride too far to meet, then continue to ride again. Which was why I was suggesting we just meet to eat, chat and take pics.

I'm down for whatever, and if you know the area better than I, you are more than welcome to arrange where we meet and stuff.

you pick a place to meet and ill most likely be there. If you want me to lead i know tons of good roads around the area.

There's one in the Group Rides called DC/VA/MD Riders or something, towards the end. You're not missing much though but most of it is towards the end. I started a new thread so we could focus on this date.

Ive never been up there but usually when i go somewhere on my bike that i have never been to i have the map on my phone with directions and basically every exit i take i pull over to look at what the next one is called. and if i miss it its adventure time to figure out how to get back on the right road

@robmilchling - a friend showed me on a map the Rt 15/77 and Catoctin area and showed me the routes he does -- looks like so much fun. I might do that this weekend, just for the fun of it.

So far, I've heard of scattered thunderstorms for Friday and Saturday, all clear, high 80's for sunday. Sunday I'm off and could make it out, even if we head to Frederick, which as a warning that trip out 70 can be boringgggg.
