hmmmm intriguing, count me as a possible attendant. May is just too far away at the moment to see what I will have going on.

If I were to go, I'd be down for the bunkhouse.

yea I'm heading down for the trip and I'm about 1-2hrs north of dc depending on traffic and how much I feel like breaking speed limit laws, less likely to want to on a long trip though as it wears you out a bit and wastes your gas.

I'm down for bunking at ironhorse, I had been budgeting significantly more than that for lodging on the trip, this'll free up money for more important areas such as maybe getting new tires before I head down. Thinking those new michelin tires will give me good life and sporty grip, bt-45s may work better for me though due to the amount of commuting hours I put in.

@Sirref will be coming from just north of you, someone else, cant remember user name off top of my head, guy from Kent Island....drawing a blank, has the lightsaber avatar?... Sykes? is that right, Yeah he has mentioned interest.

I am also still on the fence and would be coming through DC most likely if I choose to come.

edit: how did I miss sirref's post, I swear I went to bottom and there was nothing... it has been a long day

sykes is a maybe, he said he's not fully comfortable with the idea of a long trip yet but might be down for it anyway.

you may have missed my post if you opened the thread before my post went up and took your time before actually reading it/posting. Happens to me all the time since I like to open up 5-10 threads at a time.

After riding to VA Beach and back, I feel like I could manage the trip. But I definitely would either need music and/or people to ride with haha. I'll probably buy a bluetooth for my helmet soon. I'll just have to double check with my work to see if I've got the PTO for it (I should).

http://www.plugfones.com/ these work splendidly for me w/my ipod, using both ears at the same time is "technically illegal" in md but cops won't write you up or pull you over for it unless you've done something to annoy them or they're in a really bad mood already. If you're worried about the legal aspect of it then wear one ear and not the other, bam perfectly legal.

plus they're only $20

Those actually look pretty cool. But I might still just go for a bluetooth setup, since down the road I want to be able to communicate with other riders (if they have BT as well).

Now, I have to setup a better phone mount on my dash hahaha. I drove to VA with it taped up with electrical tape around the entire dash console. Didn't budge! But ghetto as can be lol.

Cool. I'll go ahead and make reservations for one room later today. The first 4 folks to put $6 in my paypal account will be roomies. PM me.

Here's the question to consider though...do you guys want to bunk Friday night and saturday night or are y'all planning to stay in different places each night? I am only planning Saturday night, but I MAY be able to make it up there Friday night.

Before I make reservations, I need to know if it's just Saturday night or if we want to book Friday night too. I'm 50/50 but if there's interest for Friday night, I'll make it happen.

When you all come over and fall in love with the E TN roads, consider buying my mountain home in Townsend. It goes up on the market May 15th.

Have fun and be safe!

BTW subxero, Im moving back to PA so I can suffer the long winters too.

Suprisingly enough... it didn't haha. Once I was moving, the rain never touched my phone, let alone the tape. It was just underneath the windscreen. So all the rain flew past it.

^ just a bunkhouse that fits a bunch of people and is fairly cheap when you put a bunch of people in it.

pretty sure they also have everything set up for a bonfire

There's a beautiful mountain creek on the land. I like to get plastic chairs in sit in the water with a beer after a day of riding. Oh, btw, it's a dry county, so come prepared...although I have connections at the Iron Horse and may be able to get us hooked up.

so far Johnny is in for the Friday and Saturday night bunkhouse. I'm hesitant to sign up for both nights without a few others committing as money is tight right now. Any other definites?

There are pictures of the bunkhouse on ironhorse's website http://ironhorsenc.com/. And they cook the most delicious breakfast and dinner, though of course you have to pay for them, WELL WORTH IT! Friday nights they have killer prime rib (or they used to anyway...been a couple of years since I've been there). Folks rave about it for a reason. Those cooks (and old man and woman couple) know their way around a kitchen!
There's also a pool table, big ass movie screen with movies, and nice showers in the main house.
Now that I've tried to sell it, any other takers for bunkhouse spots for both nights?

Oh damn. Cancel that idea. It's $30 per BED per night. Never mind. If anyone is interested, they have 2 beds left for that Friday and Saturday night plus camping is available.

in, considering i was planing on going down there around that time. i'm more of a camper though if everyone's getting a room i don't mind spliting and taking a shower. i'll probably take the 14th off, drive down the blue ridge and meet up and ride the dragon on the 16th.

personally though i might split on the weekend as the dragon is a circus on the weekend and i'm a slow rider and don't want anyone wrecking into me. head down and stay in the nat park or go ride some roads in georgia/ then hit it monday on the way back and be in nyc by wed night the 21st. i'll probably trailer my bike down to dc and start from there.
