back firing
harro.
i have an 04 250 with a jet kit, full areap exhaust and pods. a few months ago we jetted it and it ran perfect, jus fine. now that its a few months later...when backing off from very high revs like 10k-11k it will pop. .. is my bike leaning out? how so? nothign changed and we had it running right. weather change? its super nice out and warm...we jetted when it was cold. im not well educated how temp/weather effect air/fuel yet.

I agree with Lychee. For a recipient of one cubic feet, you will have more molecules of cold air than molecules of warm air. Since your cylinder stroke is a fixed volume, it will suck more molecules of cold air and less molecules of warm air. Proper combustion requires an air:fuel ratio of 14.7:1 Not very exact, but just for simplification, we could say that 15 molecules of air need 1 molecule of fuel to burn correctly at top temperature. So, how do you need to adjust the flow of fuel for cold and warm air?

Right.
You can also play with the size of the jets, the regulating screws and the level of fuel inside the bowls,..........or the electronic software of e-fuel injection. That was all, not difficult at all. Now rabies is well educated on how temp/weather effect air/fuel.

We put #42 pilot jets in and #112.4 main jets and backed the idle screw 2.5 turns from bottomed out. I have mine adjusted the same with Uni pods and gutted stock pipes and it feels just a tad rich on mine. His ran just fine before. It hasn't been too much colder now than a month ago.
When my exhaust flange came loose, it backfired when I let off the throttle. Assuming it's all solid...I'm not sure.
