just picked up a new ninja 250 track bike, arai corsair v helmet (i love it, its super light fits perfectly and has great field of view,a lso has a small chin so you can tuck lower) TCX s race boots, alpinestar gp tech gloves, and a 400$ custom fit custom design 1 piece track suit i bought off a company on ebay, i think they make the suit in pakistan which is why its so cheap, they got good reviews so we will see how good the suit is when i get it, i think im going to do a review on a new thread once i get it

New jacket came in!

And the Boyfriends V-day gift. The apparently hard to fine Buell tail bag.

Talking

I had long ago retired my beloved Buell Adventure jacket. It had been patched and sown up, and thrown down, and slid in. Finally it just got rotten and had to go. I got several different jackets afterwards. A Sedici rain jacket, a Speed and strength mesh jacket, etc, etc.

Today, I found the replacement for my beloved jacket. A Joe Rocket Atomic 4.0. Now I know who Buell had build their jackets. This thing is even better. I'm in love.

How you liking the Contour? I just bought a Drift Ghost-S and quickly returned it because I was not pleased with the quality vs a GoPro Hero 3+ Black.

I have been using contour cams for many years. I have used many cams but it's my goto cam for when I know I will get what I am after. HD video quality is there, but it's slightly less quality vs. the high end go pro's but I have never been left wanting for more for my street/track uses. It's a trade off, ease of use vs. sacrifice some quality. For me, it's about attach cam, aim (laser sights), slide forward to record and go. Can turn it on and off with gloves on. It's like it was designed by riders for riders. They can be had on ebay for around $100 if you find the right deal. If ya don't like it, resell for about the same, so the risk is relatively low.

There is tons of contour footage on youtube but if you want or need, I can link you some of my vids. Lemme know.

I'm really picky about the video quality and battery life for an action cam. The video quality on a GoPro Hero3+ is incredible, while the drift Ghost-S is not. The battery life on the drift is amazing, but on the go-pro it's not. Same price, however I can always carry around an extra battery to keep the GoPro running but I'll be stuck with the Drift-S video quality forever.

The highest model currently made by Contour is the Contour+2, right?

Are you comparing regular 1080p 30/60fps mode or pro tune?
What about at night?

I think the new Sony (HDR-AS100V) will have a high bit rate recording mode.
Looks like Contour is back in business?

Yep, the Contour+2

I don't blame you about the quality or battery life. Unless you need super fine detail, the 1080p might fit your quality needs well. If your after really long battery life, the contour is not for you. It's not a real problem for me though, I charge mine overnight, then head to the track. I normally record 7 20min sessions, along with any other shenanigans that I happen to see in the paddock. It's about 2 hours of video before I start to worry about the battery going dead. The night video quality is kinda dark and so so, but works fine for catching the nocturnal stuntas in the lit parking lots.

@algs26 - Contour had a last minute investor save them from folding up shop. I am still sceptical of their future. If I were their investor, I would find a way to get a contour in the hands of as many pro athlete out there and a few good amateurs as well. They are getting killed by marketing.

I'm comparing with all defualt modes, which I believe is 1080p at 30 frames per second. Night viewing even with Drift advertising it's better, GoPro still kills them at.

Sweet trailer! The man is looking for one so we can truck the bikes down to Daytona next year. And for winter storage. The shed is getting a bit full with his bike mine and one of our buddies. And he may be picking up a Buell Blast that needs some work.
