Will I have to replace/change the relay on the back of the bike near the tail light at all if I use this kit?

Yes, you'll have to go with an electronic flasher if you want your LEDs to work well. As a matter of fact, a relay should be the first thing you'll have change if you're set on going the LED route. I use the Tridon EP34 but I think Tri has a newer one as well.

Mine too has 2 green wires in the #9 connector. When you say you "connected everything", are you saying you treated the 2 green wires as if they were 1? if not, how did you deal with the 2 wire issue? no one seems to mention it anywhere but its obviously the norm for the 2012 model.

The two green wires are connected together at the same pin, so unless you want to cut the factory wire for some reason, just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

As I'm in Australia outside of shipping range, I whipped up my own no cut kit exactly as per your instructions and it works a charm. Thanks very much for taking the time here as it made a pretty tech job pretty easy for a rookie. Cheers.
Question for you guys though. The diode's work great and now no light whatsoever makes it to the wrong side when indicating. However, apart from my proton which has it's own flasher in built, my other indicators do not flash but rather remain lit constantly. I am running a Narva LED specific relay and this is responsible for this behaviour. I switched out for the stock and got the exact same deal. Waste of money that flasher was ($32!). I have an old electro-mechanical relay which I switched in and it works great, flashing all 3 indicators (I have protons, oberon bar end and oberon LED rear indicators) perfectly in sync. I'd much rather an LED relay as the mechanical makes a loud & very vintage sounding click click click. How is it possible that the LED relay does not work correctly? |

Hi, If I buy this kit, can I have multiple LEDs for turn signals? Or am I limited to 4? I'm planning on adding more LEDs to the under tail and under my side fairings for turn signals. I'll be using the Tridon EP34 relay.

You need this kit if you install more than two led signals. It won't matter how many you install. I have 8 on each side of my bike.

Hey, I bought this kit last week and all four of my blinkers were working fine before, but I went ahead and installed this anyway just in case I wanted more LED lights. Now when I put the turn signal on, all four blinkers light up and blink at the same time... any idea what the problem is?

yeah, without the kit, all 4 would blink at the same time. Make sure your grounding path is clean.

That's weird. I grounded it to the bolt shown in this diy.. it's backwards tho. Works fine without the diode, and all four blink with the diode.

hi! i have the same problem but on my 2003 ninja 250. All the kits say they're only compatible with the 2008-2012 ninjas. I'm wondering if there's a similar kit out there but for older ninjas

It's a 10-cent part that works much better and more reliably if you take the extra 5-minutes to solder it into harness wiring. Add 5-cents for heat-shrink tubing or electrical tape.

Hi Guys,
Just received my Diode Kit and it was easy to install. I also got the EP34 Relay now the all 4 blinkers on at same time is fixed but now I have the issue that the lights stay solid and relay is buzzing really loud. How would I be able to fix this? Im lost lol |

Something’s not wired properly. Draw a schematic of how you have every single wire connected.

Have you tried going back to the incandescent bulbs and factory wiring under the dash to check the turn signal flasher relay? Do you have a spare turn signal flasher relay?
Have you contacted the vendor to help you? Tri is a helpful guy. |

Buzzing relay means it’s got feedback loop going. Some wiring may be crossed. Or relay may be defective.
As mentioned, might be good to undo some of the changes to use process of elimination to narrow down problem area. 1. put everything back to stock and verify everything works correctly as stock 2. Replace only relay. If it buzzes, then relay is bad. Don’t proceed until you get relay replaced 4. Install LED turn signal. Verify they all work and blink. Turn signal indicator should flash 5. Install diodes to fix turn-indicator flashing |

Thnx for your reply @choneofakind and @DannoXYZ
I pt all stock globes back and went one at a time with LED ones. Front all good but as soon I plug an LED into the Back wires it Buzzes but if I connect the Old stock one to the same LED ( 3 Signals one side ) it works perfectly. ( Still flashes a bit fast but better then nothing) Would I need to solder another resistor into the circuit? |

Is this buzzing with stock or EP34 relay?
Did you revert to all stock with stock relay and removed diodes? |

![]() I did went all stock but my stock relay is starting to fail goes off after few seconds. But all stock light working perfect with EP34 only blinks a little to fast but its not major. Buzzing only comes from EP34 as Stock just fails right away and neither side blinks as soon I hook up LED to the rear. |

Stock relay failing and EP34 buzzing are signs you have wiring issue. Probably in the rear leg of circuit. EP34 should flash slower with stock bulbs, so there's definitely a short somewhere.
Does your rear LED come with polarity protection diode? Or are you using voltmeter to find +12v wire? |

1. power-off 2. unplug both rear turn-signals 3. measure resistance to chassis-ground of each wire in each rear turn-signal harness connector (4 measurements total). 4. what are these measurements? 5. measure resistance between each terminal of each rear turn-signal harness connector 6. what are these two measurements? |
