mobile workbench

Got tired of moving things around just to get at my 250.

I load my 250 into my Honda Odyssey and use the front stand when going to track days.

Makes working on your bike real easy....

You can fit a 250 into a honda odyssey?

damn, I know there's still room left over with 6 people and all of their snowboarding gear but I didn't think it was that much room

I was able to get mine in a '02 Caravan with the bench removed. front wheel fits perfecto between the cap'n chairs.

minivans rule.

the raised bench combo loading ramp thing is real clever. i'm building a new bike workbench/lift/platform this summer and i'm totally snagging that idea.

RE: mobile workbench

Here's the 250 in the Odyssey. No seats, but room for plenty of gear & parts.

Nice, I thought for sure you'd have clearance issues with the windscreen of the bike. Vans are a very underappreciated form of transportation. Especially if you have kids

So you use the ramp to get the bike up on the bench as well?

Always wondered about that. How do you control the thing when the handlebars rise up around your ears? I'd be freaked out about having it fall.

RE: mobile workbench

Same rear ramp fits into slot at rear of workbench. 20 inches from top surface of bench to floor, 22 inches wide, 96 inches long. All four wheels lock. Front chock holds tire tight.

So are you able to walk up the ramp alongside the bike? Seems just wide enough.

RE: mobile workbench

With a rolling start, I walk along side the workbench, my feet on the floor, my wife helps by pushing at the back. Once on top, I keep the 250 upright and go straight into the front chock. I can use the front brake if I need to.
Side by side 2 x4s down the middle for a guide.
Not as hard as you might think: I am only 5'9" 165 lbs.

workbench...

The Odyssey has left the garage, transmission failed at 225k miles.

A 2011 Sienna now serves as transportation. Same deal, different vehicle.

Make your very own mobile workbench today, you will be glad you did.

Awesome! Did your Odyssey ever break coil-springs in struts?

workbench...

I had replaced the stock units with Monroe Struts fairly early in the time I had it.
Maintained the hell out of it, still failed.
How did the parts I shipped arrive, a while back?

You know, I got it with your exquisite packaging, thanks!!!
Still unopened since bikes are completely torn down to frame at moment.
Will get things back together this week.

I think you'll find Sienna to be more durable and reliable.
