Indicator left on

So I was driving behind a guy on a brand new cbr 250 for ahwile and saw he had his right indicator on the whole time. At the next lights we pulled up to, I flashed my lights at him to get his attention and then told him his indicator was still on. He then proceeded to turn off his indicator and flip me off!! We were the only cars on the road so it's not as if I had humiliated him.

I haven't started riding yet as I'm still waiting for my bike but for future reference, if someone leaves they're indicator on should I just ignore it or was this guy just being a moron?

This guy was just a jerk. A major one at that.

I've always appreciated when someone lets me know I've got a blinker on and most bikers will as well.

It happens to most everyone that rides a bike. You did the right thing and he should be ashamed ! I always give a thumb's up when someone shows me that my blinker is on. Wearing a dark shield helps hide the

+1 you did good and he was a jerk. It's not like you yelled at him and told him he was an idiot but apparently he was an idiot. Go figure.

haha thanks, good to know. I'd like people to let me know if i've done the same, but being a first time rider i was wondering if maybe i had broken a bike etiquette rule or something!

Nah there's nothing in the bike etiquette rule that is against being polite. At least not in my rule book.

Just ignore crap like that.

OR

Next time that happens simply follow the person from a distance and learn his pattern of operation. Find him at a vulnerable moment and knock him unconscious and take a set of bolt cutters and remove the offending finger and gorilla tape it to his balls. Can you imagine his reaction when he wakes up...lol....

But probably you should just ignore it.

One of my favorite tactics is to stay behind them and put my turn signal on too. Eventually, the person sees me and notices my blinker on, and thinks "what an idiot". Then they check their own blinker and turn it off. I assume its human nature that when they see someone else they think is being an idiot, they make sure that they're not being one too. 9 times out of 10, it works. That tenth time, the person is sooo oblivious to not even be bothered with.

After all, it was your fault that he left his turn signal on...
