POLICE are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was left with serious injuries by a rope tied between two trees at neck height.

The 16-year-old, who suffered injuries to his neck and wind pipe, was immediately rushed to Addenbrooke's Hospital after riding into the rope on a woodland path in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Detective Constable Diane Tomlinson said: 'The young man is in a serious condition in hospital and I would like to speak with anyone who may know why the rope was tied to those trees, or who may have put it there.

'Anyone who uses the area, such as dog walkers, who may have information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, should call police.'

Last year, police launched an investigation into a similar incident when string was found tied across a main road at neck height, posing a danger to motorcyclists and cyclists.
