with a little bit of Pretty much anything I need to tear down the major components of a bike is there. If I need more than that I call for someone to come pick me up. Curious to see what everyone else puts in their trunk. |

I carry that stuff on the BMW (except I have an electric air pump instead of the factory CO2 cartridges). Plus electrical tape and duct tape and a cargo net stretchy thing.
But on the Ninjette, other than the factory tool kit, I only have a Leatherman Junior. And thy guy I bought the bike from left a $5 bill in the tool kit. |

A small flashlight (torch for our Oz members) is a good idea.

A pencil air gauge may be a useful addition, as well as some steel wire, screwdrivers, Allen wrench, pliers, spare bulbs and fuses, nylon ties and duct tape (wrapped on the screwdriver).

I always have a tail bag with me so usually carry more than needed..
OEM tool kit supplimented with better tools, zip ties, electrical tape, and duct tape wrapped around a pencil for minor repairs under seat cowl. Air compressor with sticky string style tire repair kit and mini air gauge. WD-40 Chain lube (two types now, wax spray and the scottoiler refill stuff) Oil Mini first aid kit Flashlight Spare headlights, turn signal bulbs, and fuses. Two SPOT devices (one on me, one on bike) Mini leatherman Couple bandanas and a clean up rag. Extra layers in case I'm stranded and it gets cold, along some heat packs that I need to restock. About $40 tucked in with ins info About $150 squirreled away for major expenses. Spare debit, credit, and gas cards for primary usage so my wallet is never off of me to be forgotten/stolen. Jumper cables, I want to get jumper cables!! And need to figure out how where to tuck a set of tie downs and the handlebar straps. Oh! I do want to have spare set of throttle and clutch cables already in place so if they break, I can change over relatively quick and definitely not be stranded. My shopping list is growing....

OEM tool kits are crap in terms of quality. I mean, just look at the screwdriver and pliers they give you.
Some of the special tools are needed, however. My 08 kit's spark plug wrench was the only elegant way to get the plugs out of that engine. On my Suzuki, there's nothing in the stock tool kit that I need on the bike. It's all handled by a multitool with various driver bits.

On trips I carry a mirror-on-a-telescoping-stick so I can check oil.
Ever try to balance the bike straight up and down while bending over to look in that stupid sight glass?

I think you have the IDEA - the one tool that can procure all other tools lol
Quote:
STEP 2- Find Nevada wolf and rob him for his small fortune that he keeps in his bike lol STEP 3- Casino night STEP 4- Run for public office haha For jumper cables I used four alligator clips from a multi pack from harbor freight and put them on about 6' of 12 gauge lamp cord. You dont start the bike on them- you let it sit and charge off someone else's bike or car for a bit---- or in a pinch - bust open one of those Yellow blinky lights that they leave on the road cones on construction sites and use the battery out of that lol One time I drove my CB350 home with the jumpers ran from the saddle bag with a procured battery in it lol Mirror---- Ive been doing the whole dance and balance a hand stand for as long as I can remember.

You'll never find it.
I read a LD report where the rider installed a small LED down by her sight glass for late night oil checks. Mirror would really be useful as well.
