Exclamation Will a 160 Tyre fit on Stock Rear?

Here's the latest News: I couldn't find the tires I wanted most in my country
So here is the choices I have:

Michelin Pilot Road3 160/60/17
Power Pure 160/60/17

Metzeler M5 150/60/17
Z6 150/70/17

Pirelli Sport Demons 150/70/17

From what I've read on here guys who installed 150 michelins said that there has been a lot of space left and wished they had gone with 160s. Anyone installed these 160s? Will they fit without modification or pinching?

I have to buy the tires today so please comment as soon as possible on the 160s. Thank you guys

Ok...this seems to be getting outta hand. I don't think ANYONE has attempted to put a 160 on a stock rim, the 150/60 is pinched enough as it is. My chicken strips are almost .5"

Putting a 160 is really outta the question. Who said theres extra space left, because anyone who knows anything, knows that the Bt-016 and Pilot Powers are really the only tires that fit without touching the chain guard in 150/60 size.

From your posts I get the feeling you don't know much about the performance or handling aspect of the bike, and you're just going for looks... If you put on the 150/70 you will significantly raise the rear end of the bike. Even the 140/70 size raises it a couple mm from stock height, but it may actually be preferable depending on your height. The 150/70 will have a huge sidewall. Like I said in a previous thread of yours if you can't get a 150/60 go for 140/70 NOT 150/70.

There is a lot more to tire dimensions and their fitting than just size.

I'm trying to find 150/60s but since most of the people here upgraded to 150s with 70s and didn't had problems I'm considering it as an option.

And btw all that BT003s and BT016 are 161mm wide. Yes in size of 160/60 of for example metzeler M5. Also Metzeler M5 150/60/17 is 149mm max. So I thought maybe some 160s may be 160mm or thinner.

Of your choices, I'd go with the Metzeler M5. I've run Metzeler M3's and M1's before and thought they were good tires. As others have said, the 150/60 is the biggest you'll want to run. On the stock rim they'll look a little bigger but not much bigger than the stock tire, if you're wanting to run a 160 rear tire, you'll need to order one of the Ninja 650R rear wheels and adapter kits. Otherwise you're out of luck.

Actually I think the 160 will not be possible with the stock swing-arm. I'm running a larger than stock wheel with a BT016 150 and I'm pretty close to rubbing the chain and swing-arm.

I have 150/70, no problem at all. It does have a huge side wall, next time I mint go with a 150/60. But when I was doing my research the dunlop was design to fit the rear wheel. That's why I ended up with that specific tire plust they supposed to last longer than the rest. I'm not a twisty Guy so I was looking more for a good lasting tire.

Michelin Pilot Road3 160/60-ZR17 - Anyone installed these 160s?
Yes, some Indonesian guys have made that, using 120/70-ZR17 in the front and 160/60-ZR17in the rear.

Will they fit without modification or pinching?
No, you need to use a 17x4.5 rim. The easy solution is to buy a Chemco rim from Sportisi.

160 rear

better as in fits much smother and to me if i didnt rear all this bs online i would of gone with 180.
it gave me no trouble dose not looked pinched and there is way to much space for a 160 on the chassi i wish i never read these forums
wide tire much more handling and seems way more ****ing balanced plus u can leave the bike up without a kick stand

obviously your new here and welcome. it's not cool to start dropping bombs and telling members to "F" off. if you think a 180 will fit go buy one and do a write up on mounting/fitment. if you wish you had never read into our cozy forum, why are you here? you will not find a better place in the matrix for:
mods for your bike
how to work on your bike
tutorials concerning every part of your bike
how to ride
knowledge from fellow members
i'm stopping the list because i could go on all day. i look forward to your first write up/explanation.

You are the trolleat troll out there Boy

Its not tell em to **** off i said funk. You need some one to prove you wrong? I will gladly grab a 180 and prove you wrong.
This was a big ****ing mistake beacuse im %100 sure every tire brand has its owne size. But im sure there is a 180 that will fit, im not sure how it will ride or how much tread im using but im sure the 160 was the best disican anyone can make.
P.s me and my brother have changed over 100k tires by now always following the presedure to be safe but im sure the 3.5in rim will fir the sonlope road smart 3 easier then the stock tire.
Much more handaling, feels smother and way more conftable as u now yhe suspension on the ninja 250r isnt god but these tire will help in everyway.
Your using way more then %20 of the tread with the 160 im not sure why people spitting out **** sitting there ass at home not making a move or seeing any reeal rim and tire.
Dont **** around get the 160 on a 3.5 rim
