New owner: 2011 White SE

Hello,
Just took delivery of a 2011 White SE. Actually, the wife did as I am still deployed.

I have been a lurker here for awhile. I was planning on buying used, but the prices were not much different between the used new gens and the new ones. When my wife went to look at new bike prices, she saw the white, with the "time attack" rims (my ITR has a set of Volk in the same color) knew I would love it...and bought it that day. Most impulsive purchase EVER!

I am not complaining though

. I Apologize for the crappy cell phone pics and the messy garage shots. The wife is a photographer, so I will have some *bling* shots once I get home. I have been a lurker here and have learned alot. I have been an active member on car forums for years, and am trying to avoid the *mod bug* with this new purchase. I will only have a few months of riding weather before I am back out again, so that shouldnt be TOO hard. Anyway, I wanted to share another reason that I cant wait to get home!

Sweet... I've never seen a 250 that has other than stock rims on it!!! Any chance you could have her take some better pics of the rims? Also, which branch of service are you in? I'm a Marine stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA... been in nearly 14 yrs and will be headed over there in Feb. Look forward to seeing more of your bike and stay safe over there!!!

Semper Fi Marine!

Im NAVY, stationed in Va Beach VA.

The rims are stock. The rim tape on the white 11 SE is Red, and I have a set on my car that are the same color (black w/red lip aka "time attack"), so the wife knew I would like it. If I ever do change it up, I would have to go with a gold rim or a white w/gold tape. Im a sucker for white/gold combos.

I dont have a picture out here of the car w/the volks but I attached a pic of the 250 rims, Im sure you have seen them though, nothing special but she thought it was cool the bike and car now "match"

I had also picked up the HJC carbon in red. Probably have to have a friend add some reflective pinstriping/acccents though. I really wanted a white CF helmet, but couldnt find one.

I LOVE the 2011 SE. I really should have spent the extra money for it rather then getting a 2010 red =\

Whats up. How long have you been riding down here? I have been back and forth about getting one for YEARS because of the way people drive here! Ill be back in July, once I get comfortable with the bike maybe we can ride...strength in numbers, as I am the only one of my friends to not immediately jump on a gixxer or other litre bike

I took a ton of crap from even the "responsible" riders I know for not starting larger. Oh well, the price of insurance alone was worth it for me to start lower, and from what I have read I wont be sorry I did start small.

Same situation here, Ive only been riding about 2 months +/- & everything else you said is exactly the same situation here. & yeah having one here in H.R is pretty rediculous, but just gotta be safe & stay alert no daydreaming you know. Although I still get like 2 to 4 "Oh ****" moments a day Lol Have you ever ridden before? & yeah I catch crap too, but I love my bike. & you will too
