returning to stock ride height

Hi all, I just bought a 2009 250R and the previous owner had lowered it. I'm looking for a set of original links to return it to the proper height. Can anyone tell if these are the stock ones:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/331632149793...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It says "stock ride height" in the title, but then later in the description it describes them as "lowering links" so I just want to be sure. I msg'd them but didn't get an answer. Thanks!

No unfortunately they only have one on each end. They have "Vortex" stamped on the side so I'm guessing it's this one here:

IMHO I'd just look for a pair of OEM bones, and call it done.

When in doubt, go with the OEM ones, it's a safe bet.

I think I still have my set of OEM's. I will check for ya. You pay for shipping and send me a voucher for a crave case from white castle? How does that sound?

edit: usps flat rate should be able to get them from me to you in a couple of days.

That sounds awesome thanks - I don't know what a crave case is or where the nearest White Castle is but I will happily do a cash alternative if you let me know what that would be

When it comes to raising the bike to do this job, can it be done with just a jack? I watched a video online where the guy had the front secured with straps etc. and then jacked up the bike under the engine - but not quite enough to take a rear wheel off the ground. I don't really have anywhere I can strap the front down like that at home. Would a front stand help at all?

Thanks for the suggestion. You don't think a stand would help then? If I have to get something specially for this job, I'd rather get something I'll use again like a set of stands. Don't really have any other uses for a ladder

A stand is a very useful thing to have and you should get one, since you own a motorcycle!

If you use a swingarm stand, you won't be able get the dogbones off, since they'll still be weighted. The stand lifts by the swingarm. You need to find a way to get the frame supported without being held up by the swingarm. Get creative if you have to. Some people have also gotten lucky by flipping their rearset pegs upside down so they support weight and then using automotive jack stands. I'll try to find a picture of that too.

what do you have that might be useful? Access to a garage least, or are you keeping it outside in a parking lot?

What I had in mind for this job was a front stand - I thought that would stop the front wheel from wanting to roll while I jack up the frame to take the weight off the rear wheel.

I am keeping it in a carport for now, and actually I just realized there might be something I can use. My spot has a vertical pillar, so maybe I can strap the front wheel to that.

Using a rear stand solo works great. Using a front stand solo is more sketchy... I'm not sure how well that would work for you, since the front wheel pivots in the frame.

Time to do this...this is the video I mentioned earlier in the thread:

Link to original page on YouTube.

He has the front end secured...but what is stopping the body of the bike from swinging to one side? The only part that's attached to anything is the rear wheel touching the ground.
