Valve Adjustment
Im looking for a little more zoom up top I have sorted out my jetting and this is just something to give me a little extra. Should I set them as tight as recommended? How often should I check them if I do so?

I already checked out that ninja250.org stuff Im just trying to get another opinion. From someone who races and has or has not noticed a difference. The wiki isnt always correct.

ummm, unless your racing I would leave the at spec. not worth the risk for minimal power gains, and the added maintenance. unless you don't mind tearing it apart over and over again.

I would have the valves set to minimum lash so still in spec. And I dont mind wrenching on stuff I actually enjoy it.

Lets put it this way I took the bike apart far enough to remove the airbox get rid of the backfire mesh, molding flash and finished everything including the intake runners with 2000 grit sand paper........

dude, leave the valves at the loose end of spec. Starts are so much easier with looser valves. If you're looking for minimal zoom up top, swap cams with a bike made from 1988-1992.
