Having sum problems with Ninja 250R 09
I have tryed jump starting and Charging the battery.. still nothing.. Im not much of a auto-motor mechanical wiz. How much would sumthin like this cost to get looked at and fixed. Just dont want to be overcharged too much.
Bike has Been in storage for quite sum Time ( since june ), only has 469 miles on it. Ive siphoned out gas, drained carbs, added fresh fuel, added green stabil, charged battery still nothing..bleh Is their a step im missing. Just feel hopeless.. lol Guess it is my fault for not storing properly Like I said I have Little to None Experience in Mechanics, not sure im comfortable pulling everything apart |

Well lets start with some simple questions to help everyone better understand.
Does the engine turn over? Does it crank but not start? Does it start but not run?

Ok. I know it may sound weird to ask but it has happened before so please no offense intended. Double-check that the kill switch is set to on position. Neutral light on the dash should also be on. I want to make sure we don't have a safety switch preventing it from starting. Are you using the choke per the normal cold start procedure? Does it "hit" or "pop" as if it trying to start?

OK. Do we know for sure it is getting fuel? check the carb bowl drain screws to see if fuel comes out? Do you need help with this? I could prolly get some pics to help if needed.

That's cool. We can take it step by step. The 2 links DaBlue1 posted has some good information too. Review that and check for fuel then get back to us.

If you are really unsure of your mechanical skills, there is one more thing you can try. Get yourself a can of Seafoam http://www.seafoamsales.com/how-to-u...treatment.html and add it to your gas. Let it sit in the tank and carbs overnight and see if that helps. Most shops charge and hourly rate. You will have to check you local shop what the rate is for a tune up.
