Are EBC brakes any good?

EBC Double-H Sintered Brake Pads
any good? Going back to the track and I want some better brakes.

Or should I be looking at something better?

Be careful the first time you grab a handful of those.... The initial bite is crazy good...

They are both top notch products. I believe the EBC's are more "streetable" and the Vesrah are more for track. Guys use them on the streets too though. Both would be an excellent choice.

Do you need a source for the Vesrah?

Great initial bite, no fade, Way better than stockers for stopping power. Slap braided ss lines and the initial bite is even better. I run them on the 250 with stock lines and I could tell the difference. I run them on the FZ with ss lines and major is the only way to describe the difference. They last pretty good too.

Just took the vesrahs to the track for the first time this weekend (thanks matt!) and they're AWESOME. With my old galfers, I'd need to pull with three fingers hard to start lifting the rear wheel under heavy braking zones, and with the vesrahs, now its only two fingers with much less effort to get the same braking effect. Very confidence inspiring to say the least, and much better feedback as well. Initial bite is strong but in no way twitchy or overly grabby. By far the best pads I've tried yet!

As for street... couldn't tell you, but they stop the bike and don't squeal unless super hot!

I've never tried the EBC, because I'd always sort of grouped them into the "decent, but nothing special" categories. I can say from experience that the Vesrahs are amazing: a real night & day difference.
As far as the EBCs, I have since been told by many people that they are in fact very good, high quality products, well above average.

I ask because I do not wish to assume. Are the Vesrah pads being used on stock rotors and stock calipers?

Here's some additional info on brake pads selection vs. rotor wear. Starts around post #17. I've kinda leaned towards the EBC's since this thread. I'm still undecided.

I use the race pads, and the initial bit is almost too much. Otherwise they work great. No brake fad.

Took them out to GMR last night and there amazing brakes! By far the best $30 I have spent on this bike, never been more confident with they way they would perform. Whatever I wanted the bike to do, it would do it, without question, and very easily

People on this site have had some trouble with the aftermarket EBC rotors, even after warranty replacements. Search on the threads by headshrink for more info.
