Touchy McFiddler!

Somebody, every day, resets my trip counter on my ninjette, I park in the main carpark for my town I work it, every time I get back the trip counter reads all zeros or nearly all zeros as if someome has clickly just flicked it.

I hate the idea someone has their grubby mits over my bike, I believe a small dent has also been pushed in further given it's a lot bigger now for no apparent reason! I imagine someone went to touch it and thought "hmm, a tiny dent, woder if it'll get bigger if I push it hard enough!"

It makes my skin crawl to think people are doing this.

I was raised to look but not touch, I wouldn't dream of touching someone elses bike, let alone resetting the trip! I'm sure most of you are like this also, so I am preaching to the choir, and I always park very considerably to other riders so I doubt it's vendictive, probably jealousy mixed with stupidity.

Does this happen to anyone else?

If it happens everyday lie in wait until someone comes by and tries to "steal" your motorcycle. Ambush them, pin them to the ground and call the police

If someone repeatedly touched my bike on a daily basis, I would put on a tank bag and put something that looked valuable (old broken smartphone) in the see through top part, and then set up a camera. If they take the bait, and I doubt they wouldn't if they are so bold, then send that tape to the cops, make sure you get their face.

I've been thinking of taking the rubber boot of and replacing the button inside with a hyperdermic needle full of crackwhore blood, but that could work too.

Move the bike to somewhere that you can watch it during the day.

Hmm, kind a good idea, I could probably hook up a basic alarm based on a microswitch, relay, ATtiny and my horn / indicators.

I could probably keep it in the server room, or possibly the womens lavatory.....

I work in an office and i'm usually flat out writing software, glued to my monitors or dealing with the businesses bullshit all day, that's not really an option, I guess i'll could park opposite the police station, it'll add five minutes of walking onto my journey, but i'd doubt they'd **** with it now given the amount of cameras over the place!

I was wondering if this happened to anyone else, I couldn't imagine people would do this, but the people here seem to do what they like and feel entitled to do so, so I chalk it up to that.

Do you have any buddies you work with who might find it funny to mess with you? My friends in high school who rode motorcycles as well figured out that some days I forgot to lock the bars. I would get out of school after my classes, and my motorcycle would be 3 spots over from where I left it.

That's another point, I had my bike moved once so mr bmw three box's could fit his double wide in with a couple feet ever side to make sure nobody touched his bike, I locked my stearing ever since, I always leave my bike in first, a habbit I have from old cars, and it's on a slight incline, and someone has forced it into a higher gear and i've had to spend ages trying to coax the gearbox into shifting into a gear as you know first is as high as the ninja will let you go in park, it's nothing short of vandalism.

The more I think the more I am going to park it somewhere more CCTV'd

people seemed to think it was okay to sit on my bike because it was small and lowered.. drove me crazy
only one person has done that to the gixxer... and with the amount im paying for it, i would have no problem fighting over a scratch

Yeah, it always made me sh!t myself for a second, then it made me laugh once I realized what had happened. Harmless and funny.

Had my bike beat up on during the weekend while I was out of state! Thrown on the ground, pushed in/broke blinker and bent handlebar & brake levers.
