haha. So theres this kid at work that puts all kinds of random misc. crap on his ford focus. Like he walks into a parts store and says "thats cool", buys it and puts it on his car. Theres nothing wrong with doing this unless your not thinking about how it will look with all the other stuff u already have put on it. he just keeps doing this over and over. Its kinda sad actually because he doesnt get it. He ends up turning his cars into freak shows instead of the good looking autos he himself admires. Would this be classified azn? does he have to be asian? lol

I have the ProGrip CF tank pad, was wondering if there are tankpads thats slightly bigger in size than this? unfortunately i have a tiny scratch on my tank just outside the covered area on the very bottom! So I need one thats bigger... And its kinda hard to tell when youre searching online, because they dont give you the dimensions. :\

Dimeified, I like that one a lot, and I'm not a tank pad kind of guy. A custom helmet to match would make a sweet package.

First time i rode over to my dads to show him what my Nate looked like with the Tankpad and bubblewrap (aka Stompgrip) ... he says "That looks like a Decipticon Logo" (we just saw transformers the day b4) |

Tim, how did you manage to do such a clean application of the clear tank pad? Mine has bubbles EVERYWHERE, and on a black bike, it's very noticeable. I did wipe the tank surface clean prior to application.

.....
I just wiped tank clean then put the tank pad on while bike was in my Basement which stays pretty cool.. Then worked out as much of the air bubbles as i could. Then brought the Bike outside to sit in the sun and let the tank pad heat up and Soften and i was able to then remove 99% of the air bubbles.. Most people who look at my bike up close ask me where in got the paint matched Tank Pad...

I think clear tank pads are the best-looking option, if you do a nice application. Thanks for the tip about smoothing it out after letting it sit in the sun. I'll try that.

I really want to get a tank pad also. Had my bike about 3mos now and Im startin to notices lil tiny scratches on the tank. I think I like the clear ones more than most with designs or whatever. It is hard to decide just cuz there are so many and all about the same price. Nice lookin bikes every1!

My black one didn't stick to the new paint. Now that its more mature, I'm thinking about adding a clear one.

No I got scraps 3M vinils that look like CB and place on the botton part of the tank... than with a pencil and ruller I draw how it was supost to look like... Than very carfully I cut of the parts I did not want... Than I place another scrap from the tank cap to the bot... same thing ruler and pencil how i want it and cut it of...
Only did it once... Very easy to do but u got to be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY carful not to do a deep scrachs on the tank... some scrachs u polish of but u got to go very light on the knife... I will do more vinils soon on my bike than i post how i did... KKK |
