Took this after a ride tonight, using the colour assist option on my camera to only show green. Should've used a tripod really, but it was only a quick snap.

So I installed a DG slip-on exhaust and Dynojet kit a little over a week ago. Removed the snorkel and it is a new bike! Wish I did this a long time ago. Haha. It was the first time I took a carburetor apart and it wasn't as daunting as you hear/read.

I know, right!!! I missed out. The main reason why I wanted to change the jetting on the KLX was because it was difficult to start when it was cold. My ninja never gave me that issue. It was always rideable after around 30sec on choke. The KLX needed minutes to run right. Now it only needs a few seconds of choke to get going. The extra power where it used to bog is also great! I wish I could have ridden a properly jetted ninja now.

Its a single cylinder with out a huge airbox and or full fairings.... of course it was easy. You can probably just pull the whole thing out as is with out removing anything other than hoses and cables just use some muscle and bend the rubber connectors for the in and out and there it is.

I know you went down few days ago but how was your DC - Pburgh ride? Tons of great roads on the way up, hopefully you didn't stick to the highways.

I love coming through the mountains between Thurmont, MD and Hagerstown. Awesome road. And some really great roads between MD, PA boarder and Breezewood. 30 East is decent for a bit till you get past Somerset, but by then you should dump down onto 271 and head South West towards Ohiopyle then back North West towards the Burgh.

If you are ever going to be in the area again shoot me a PM

The trip to Pittsburgh and back was great. I did stick to highways a lot because I know the route. From VA though its back roads until north of Berkeley Springs then the highway into Breezewood and the turnpike the rest of the way. I stayed in Somerset (friends have a house there) then backroads into Pittsburgh.

How loud is that exhaust? I've heard that's the loudest one you can get for the klx. Hard to imagine it's louder than my two bros though.

Those Thumpers can be pretty loud and it just carries.

Sounds good! I usually ride with my friend's dad who has a BMW. We have been talking about a back road ride up to the house in Hidden Valley.

I wish! Removing and then putting the carb back on the bike took more time than messing around inside the thing. I had to remove all the side plastics, seat, and gas tank. And there are way more hoses on that carb than were on my ninja. The KLX has all that smog crap on it. (Still need to remove that.) And the tube that connected the carb to the airbox was a bitch to get back on. I meant the easy part was the jetting, drilling out the idle mixture cap and so on.

LOUD! Haha. It's also the cheapest! But I wear earplugs so it's not too bad. I actually like it. I can now hear the bike at higher speeds, this thing was so quiet before. I removed the snorkel at the same time so I am not sure how much noise comes from the airbox. Your 2bros seems very loud from your videos. But I bet they are similar in noise level.

This is with the waterproof back on my GoPro....

If you every want to find out how loud it is for the people behind you... You can ride my Lil Ninja and I'll get out in front on the KLX.

Mine may not be rejetted, but it's shimmed, no snorkel and has a lighter/more open muffler.

I'm not going to copy and paste the pic here as it's not mine, nor am I in it. But this is simply a great shot of three 250's riding last weekend at Thunderhill. I know the guy with the crossbones, and I believe I have met the green rider. Can't think of who the other pregen is though.

I'll take you up on that offer next time we go for a ride! I may already know what it sounds like from behind though But I do want to ride a newgen ninja 250 and I'm sure you want to see all the fun you are missing out on with the KLX.

Lick Observatory. You can get their either by Mines/Patterson or Mount Hamilton. I rode from Mt Hammy and went all the way through Mines. This was actually my first time haha.

Be careful if you decide to go. There are sections where the pavement is very unpredictable and debris is a concern, mostly because parts were chip-sealed semi-recently. Also a lot of very sharp turns. While chilling at the observatory, I watched some other guys riding up and blowing the turns.

I've definitely considered getting that done. But I'd have to clean gold rims MUCH more often than black
