CA Emissions removal

After working on the carbs this weekend I realized my bike has all the CA crap on it. Seems to just clutter up everything. Anyone remove it along with the clean air stuff? Searched though the DIY section and didn't see anything on it.

Really? The air quality in the L.A. basin was horrible in the 80s.

Thirty years later despite more people and cars the air quality has improved drastically.

I wouldn't say its useless weight.

I have everything removed. You just need to plug a vacuum line off the left carb, one of the tank lines, remove the one line to the air box. Also pull the canister thing get a crank case filter and the emission block of plate for the eng valve cover.. I did it a while ago so memory is vague. Just search for the Ca. emissions diagram and remove it ALL!

Thanks everyone for the input. I will be tackling this in the next week or so. I'll try and take lots of pics and maybe put up a DIY. I need to pull the carbs too to clean them and check jet sizes so might at well punch it all out at once. If anyone knows of a DIY, please post it up.

I have a pregen and I was wondering if there are any pros or cons to removing or leaving it on.

Is there a reason to take it off?
Is there a reason to leave it on?

Thanks!

I'm talking about the pregen equivalent of the CA Emission thingy. I just hear of people removing the CA Emission thingy and I've been wondering if there's a reason.

If you click the link it says at the beginning what it is and why people remove it. If the pregen has one, it should do the same thing?

My 08 250 had a few missing emission parts, when I bought it. The P.O. did plug the chimney, however, it looked messy. The smog block off plate made it look cleaner. I did help reduce most of the backfire, if you upgraded to a slip-on or full exhaust. On top of the weight reduction.
