Hell yea I'm going to be at Sonoma! I didn't know they had novice trophies either but I ran into @KazMan and he told me where to find them.

Now I want my second place trophy though

I don't know who Austin Guinn is, but we will hunt him down and force him to take a first place trophy like the winner he was! That'll learn him!

If you're lucky, maybe he didn't know they existed either and we can all collect at Sonoma. Otherwise, it is ON like Donkey Kong next round, because that trophy looks legit and I want one

was that guy on the honda on a 500 or something? that would be the only thing that would make sense why he wouldn't be scored in the same bracket as the 250/300s

He was on a Honda CBR250. To reiterate:

Congratulations Sean on 2nd place

Does any one know how Vance Freese is... he was the AFM North president before Joe Montoya? I heard awesome Barbara Smith was still being flown in for at least some of the AFM north races. Incredible woman!

I was a turn worker at Sear's Point Raceway on race day when I wasn't part of a pit crew, way back when.

A lot of fast bikes, a lot of good people, and a lot of good times.

Now Sean, this is being said as good natured joking in regards to your 2011 being faster than my 2007... but if Josh Hayes was riding my 2007 bike I would bet my 2007 would be faster than your 2011. lol.

Now if I was racing it there would be no question your 2011 would be faster. lol

I love the old adage : Fast riders ride fast (no matter what they are on)

Nah, we're just slow. The lap record is currently held by Ari Henning, also on a CBR250 at 2:05.045

Yep, one and the same. Super friendly and humble guy, but also super fast no matter what track and bike he's on. He and his coworker Zack Courts both came out for this round to give these guys a run for their money.

that's pretty cool, I remember watching the video where they built up that cbr250 and were trying to figure out if they could make it competitive with the ninjettes. looks like they succeeded even outside of chuckwalla.

Nah, me and tiff are just in the super slow group, theres an expert group above us with times like this. These best lap times are incorrect though, some error with the transponder beacon that cut a buncha time off their first lap. Adding about 5 seconds to their best laps is more accurate. Most of the fast guys are sub 2:10 though. Gives me hope knowing I'm only 10 seconds off from being a fast guy, so close but so far

I don't know a whole lot about AFM culture but I think Berto is the current president. There was a Barbara there doing some announcements, not sure if shes the same one.

If someone uses the (you) tag, it inserts the name that's logged in. You will see JudyG and I will see NevadaWolf and Al will see allanoue, etc

To use it, just type [ you ] without the spaces. Like this, see Unregistered?

Now if you do want to single someone out, put a @ in front of their username, @JudyG.

Meh. While this is not a trophy that comes with any bragging rights, it still looks ****ing sick, so I'd still take it

Hopefully next month the chick who looped it at the start will get join the battle, as she proved to be fun to race with the rest of the weekend

I'm looking forward to the next 300 production race, looks like were all pretty close in laptimes, should be fun!

I might even grow some balls and learn to pass people, who knows!

I wouldn't define 10 seconds as being close but it's definitely a gap you can close over time.

This was hard for me to get used to, passing folks on the track, and I've just started doing it the past 2-3 track days. But once you get a taste of it in your mouth, it's a dessert you want more and more!

If you're lucky, maybe he didn't know they existed either and we can all collect at Sonoma. Otherwise, it is ON like Donkey Kong next round, because that trophy looks legit and I want one
Hahaha, this post is full of win to me.

Congrats to both of you! That you guys were out there racing says something, and if you like the trophies, it's icing on the cake.

Don't let negative nancy.s totally cheapen everything! The race in question ended up being a good battle with jiggles where I narrowly lost to him at the line, juuust missing the position. I was walking on air leaving the weekend with nothing to show for anything just because my races were such a blast, so the trophy still has a fun race story attached to give it sentimental value worth talking about (which is really the only point to me)

I mean, it's not as epic as having this trophy for putting out the lowest horsepower of all the 250s at a dyno shootout right next to my CVMA Ultra Lightweight Shootout plaques:

But it's still icing on an already great cake

Yea, just imagine how much faster he would be on ninja! He rides a cbr to slow himself down so that it's at least a fun battle still
