Spark plugs don't sit all the way down?

Hi everyone. I just got a 250 with a compression leak about a month ago and I've been looking at everyone's posts over the past month or so and it's been awesome!

Anyways I found that there was a frozen valve and it caused the rocker arm to break and caused some damage to the top end so I've replaced it and I've pretty much got everything ready to get the bike running.

So I've installed the NGK spark plugs following the instructions on http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Changin...rands_to_avoid and my service manual.

I'm pretty sure I tightened it correctly but when I went to put the coil ignition back on the spark plug it doesn't sit all the way down onto the head cover. I can't remember if it was all the way down when I pulled it out either. Is it supposed to be like that?

Those discs of rubber slide down on the connector of the spark plugs and get flush with the top of the wells.

Any ideas as to why it's not sitting all the way down? Anyone else have this issue when replacing their plugs?

You are welcome

Don't worry much, the well has an opening to drain any water that leaks in.
