I agree... PICS!!! Gratz on the jacket. That is one bright white jacket. I'd jump on that if I was that lucky too. Enjoy.

I love this jacket! It was a steal, the cool thing is the guy at cycle gear let me put it on and go out and sit on both bikes to make sure it was comfortable to ride with.

You got a great deal, love the jacket too. I also had an fz6, mine was an 05. ended up selling it for DIRT cheap to buy a cruiser. I couldnt get comfortable on it. I had an Leo Vance SBK exhaust, and a nice seat from France (cant remember the name, VERY nice seat). Anywhos congrats on the new awesome jacket.

Very nice jacket, dainese makes fantastic gear. That price was a major steal. It's hard to find dainese textiles for that price, never mind leathers...

I know that is why I snatched it up, hell it is hard to find any leather at that price it fit perfect just a tad tight but not uncomfortable just like a leather jacket should. I can't wait till the leather is broken in.

I bought that jacket for $450 at cyclegear and returned it. It's worth about $250-300 in my mind so you still got a good deal.

I ride in jeans often, I prefer my riding pants it's just not always practical.

What is not practical are skin grafts, road rash, medical deductibles, loss of income from missing work and watching a nurse scrub road grime and denim threads from your wounds....those things are impractical, time consuming and just plain annoyingly inconvenient. It will take you about 10 seconds after you go down to wish to GOD you had taken that extra 30 seconds to put on proper gear. Get overpants if you want to wear regular cotton jeans...takes 20 seconds to slip them on. Hell, I can have my entire oversuit and boots on in under a minute.

Gear isn't convenient. But being an ER patient is far FAR worse...trust me on that. ATGATT.

I am 38 years old and am well aware of the risks involved. My choices are my own, I am happy you can get your gear on fast and all but seriously talking to me like i am 12 is kind of silly. 90% of the time i am full gear, the other 10% full gear and jeans (yes that includes knee pads) and the fact that i feel i have to explain myself to you aggravates me. What safety gear a person wears is a personal choice and should be left at that.

Amen Jeff... not everyone rides like an idiot. The only pair of riding pants I own are the kevlar enforced jeans that I ride with. Heck, most of the time I'm riding it's commuting back and forth to work and I'm only wearing my utility uniform (cammies) those really don't offer protection (worse than jeans) but it's part of the rules on base and in uniform.

I too fully understand the risk involved... I'm about to be 34 years old and I guess luckily for me I won't come out of pocket for medical purposes and wouldn't be out of work (even if I was I would be getting paid thanks to all you tax payers)... anyway, not even sure why I'm posting any of this but this kinda struck a cord on me as well.

Time to go borrow a GSX-R 1000 and go ride in board shorts, flip flops and sunglasses...

The safety gear you wear is a personal choice, but having seen and personally experienced the effects of a serious crash, I refuse to back down on getting other riders to gear up every time they ride. I've been riding three decades...long enough to see the results of unwise personal choices, including my own. I've seen up to and including fatal consequences. As an adult, you have an advantage to many of the kids who typically ride motorcycles. Being young, they have Superman complexes.... you are old enough to know that there are consequences. Consequences to others besides yourself should you be seriously injured because you made a choice for the sake of convenience. Your decision, should it go badly, could effect your family both emotionally and financially. It can effect co-workers, employer/employees or clients if you are unable to work during recovery. It effects every rider's insurance premium. I certainly applaud you for ATG90%TT and if I sometimes come off as abrasive it is unintended...but understand it is an uphill battle with few victories. However, if, the next time you ride and you are rushing and it would be so easy...but that little voice whispers in your head that it really is only a minute or so more to fully gear up. In that split second you think about the ones close to you. If, because of that you end up gearing up that day and the worst happens and you come out okay...then you will forget any unintended insult and thank me.

Well, hopefully if something does happen to you riding like that on your Gixxer, you will find the inner strength and courage to be like this girl...

Kevin (Moldbuster), I certainly appreciate that you are looking out for all riders. Gear is very important. I am full gear most of the time. I do wear shoes from time to time, but that is only because I don't have a more utilitarian pair of riding boots yet. I also wear reinforced riding jeans on some rides. It is my choice though.

The point is that I think most of us are very familiar with what can happen if we have inappropriate gear/no gear on. I again applaud you for wanting to be the safety tzar, but perhaps you should start your own thread about the merits of gear here in the gear sub-forum and update it from time to time.

I think it would be better than jumping into several different gear threads as you have and preaching safety when the subject isn't about that. I think too, that your intended message will be far more welcomed when people come looking for it, rather than being hit over the head with it while trying to share a story about a great deal on a nice piece of gear.

Leather is easy to clean, when I got my leather livingroom set a few years ago I had them throw in a case of leather cleaner so just wipe it down with that and it's as good as new.

Mu white textile that is another story lol
