Ohlins shock for 250-400 Ninjas
https://www.visordown.com/news/indus...ja-250-and-400
Can't say I had heard of an Ohlins shock designed for the 250, especially at this point. |

Looks like they have fitments for most versions of these little bikes now.

The KA840 has been about since the the Newgen came out. The KA841 is the 300 model number. But it is the same shock. I have a KA840 in my pregen based ZZR250. I’m about to move it to my Versys-X 300 as the 250 is off the road for some engine work. If anyone’s interested the X-300 uses the same shock size/length/fittings/stroke length as the Ninja 300, there may be internal damping changes, but the X-300 is quite stiff in the rear, so I suspect they are the same part.

Ninja 250 continued to evolve after being discontinued in U.S. market (and Canada?). I wonder what's different between FSK101 vs. FSK202?

These shocks cost more than any ninja 250 I have ever bought....
Would they really be a noticeable improvement over a shock from a higher end sport bike like a gsxr or zx6r that was adapted for the 250? |

The advantage would be the shock and spring rates would be optimized for you and your Ninja. Using a shock from a bigger/heavier cycle doesn't often work well. Overall length, spring rates, and use of linkages all differ. Most likely you can get only one right. Some PreGen owners opt for a NewGen shock, which is generally an improvement for most - and cheap used. I just posted it because I didn't know it was even a possibility to get an Ohlins shock set-up for the 250. |
