Visual Focus Video

Check out this video, super cool tech and eye tracking doesn't lie!

Link to original page on YouTube.

I can't wait till this kinda stuff trickles down to the "average guy" track day market. As a coach, I would love to know this kinda info to help others.

Got $100 and some minor tech skills? It's a few years old, but all the info you need to make an eye tracking setup is freely available here (easy to follow article), here (the actual project repository), and plenty of other places. Your worst problems would be comfortably and safely shoving it in or on a helmet.

If you want it to 'trickle down', you may have to open the tap first.

Pretty cool! So what were some things you guys noticed about the eye tracking- specifically in reference to the rider's lines. What was he consistently looking at?

I only watched 1:30 or so, but in my opinion the rider was pretty well focused on the other rider(s) in front of him, and occasionally at the edge of the track a couple meters from his current position. Toward the end of the segment I watched he or she started to look up a bit, out of the field of view in the general direction that led most of us to "tilting my head back to see farther ahead" as an earlier post mentioned.

He certainly notices the rider(s) in front, maybe sometime focussing a little too long but where do his eyes go immediately after? And what happens to his line, or where the bike goes after?
