G*m*r* 3/20/10

Rode up today around 4:30 pm or so....it was a balmy 79 degrees....I do have to say having the 120 and 150 BT003s makes a world of difference when dealing with these twisties......not once did I ever feel a wobble or any type of sliding.....after GMR I jumped on the freeway for awhile and felt a world of difference as well......I don't think I could ever go back to the 110/130 set up....check out the new seat cowl...makes the bike look even better.......

Here are a few pics....in the video...I caught to two other bikers going down GMR at the tail end.....I relaized they were not familar with the twisties as I pass them....

Adrian, I was hoping on the video you were going to pass a liter bike but guess
a cruiser is fine!
I'll be there tomorrow morning with ARC!
BTW your tires look super sticky by the amount of sand stuck to them!
And seat cowl!
My ride today: http://pbckt.com/sA.CQw

Here's some more of my ride through GMR...at 30 seconds you''ll hear me downshift....this is a wicked turn that took (white Ninja) one of our group members down awhile back.....at 4:50 you'll see my hand in front of my camera--this is wicked yurn #1 in my book...this is where Zombiphone (Tiff) took a spill on that same day....For me...I ride GMR a LOT and these 2 turns are the ones that you cannot take lightly....

Man, it must be awesome having GMR in your backyard. I wish it was closer so I get get more comfortable on those roads. It always amazes me to see how fast you can take it. Looks like fun.

I was actually up there yesterday too around 11:30. It was pretty empty save one other green ninjette and his buddy that was going the other way and some guys on a group ride.It was my first time since that crash so I took it pretty easy (I stayed in 3rd gear pretty much the whole way). That turn really is pretty gnarly. I recognized it instantly, panicked, and gently rolled off into the dirt >_<

I'm probably going to head out there again today after checking out that custom bike show or whatever at Bert's. Gotta get some practice in before April 3rd

I might head up too....and that turn Tiff---is yours...everytime I go through it I remember you....it is a badass turn....it goes a little high then boom left and down....SLOW DOWN...Down shift.....lean...look through the turn....is what I say to myself and the funny thing is...you get to build up speed before you hit it and that's deceiving!!! Some turns I can hit pretty fast these days but i don't push it....I use lots of downshifting....some braking through the turn...I'm not a big leaner like KC....I try and use my upper body strength....so even though I'm up there a lot--I make lots of errors .....practice practice practice....and I love to practice...ask my wife....

I love having GMR 5 minutes away from me....spoiled I am...spoiled!!!

If only they made a pull along trailer that I could put and 8 and 4 year old in, I'd be on it! Oh wait, I guess they do Huh? Its called a Sidecar. Boy, that would really look SWEET. A Ninjette with a Sidecar full of angry, whining kids. Guess I'll wait till my Wife can take a day off. Thanks though!!

Steven-

I saw you guys go by---was there a black 250 with you guys? I did see your GREEN 250...didnt know it was you....you coming up 4/3/10 with us right???

I mounted my flip to the frame right between the gauges and the windscreen....there's a mount on EBAY for about 10 bux that works well....here's the website...its kinda tricky to get it on there but the FLip is so lite it doesnt matter.....if you get this mount--I will take some pics and show u where to mount it...it works on the handle bars too- left side- but the wind makes it hard to deal with....the video is much better behind the windscreen....its so much fun videotaping the rides now....

Curious, are you running 60 series or 70 series tires?

Damn! Any fender clearance issues with that front tire?

By the way, that is one awesome stretch of road you guys have the pleasure of riding out there.
