Air filter box smells like gasoline
When I removed the side panels on my motorcycle, I noticed a strong odor of gasoline coming from the air filter box. I read previously that the motorcycle recirculates vapor from the engine back to the intake to burn off harmful stuff, but I thought that’s only oil fume. Is it normal to have gasoline smell from the filter?
I unplugged the drain hose from the gas tank, and the smell did not seem to come from there. I did some digging and found this post, although it didn’t appear to have an answer to my issue. https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=27549 Thanks. |

Test your petcock to make sure it's not leaking fuel through when engine's off.
