Unusual Idle?

My bike had just come out of the first service and from day dot it has always idled rather high i thought.... It will idle at around 1200rpm to start off with most times but quickly ramps up to 3000 rpm after revving it for the first time. It will always go to 3k even after an extensive ride and its warm... What does your bike idle at? Is this normal? How do i fix it? And yes the chke is off lol

Was it cold-ish when you got it serviced? Maybe your mechanic messed with your idle screw when starting up instead of using a choke and properly warming it up first... My dealership just did that to me and I only went in for a simple tire change. I have a pre-gen but the newgen is probably similar and the owners manual says around 1.3k is the proper idle speed.

Adjust your idle speed while the bike is running and at operating temperature with the idle adjustment knob. You should be able to turn the knob through the fairing on the left side of the bike.

If your RPMs hang or dip below idle when blipping the throttle then your idle mixture screws need to be adjusted.

Sounds like OP just needs to readjust the idle knob.

When I had my bike in the shop, they did this. Rode the bike home and was wondering why it was idling so high. When I thought back to it I remembered seeing the mechanic kneel down on the left side when the bike was struggling to idle at start, so he definitely adjusted the idle instead of choke.

the benzine/tolulene crosstenuator must be hypersaturated. clearly an intake preignition conditioner adjustment is needed.
