Radiator MOD

Hello,
Has anyone seen this radiator MOD before? isn't the radiator supposed to be in the front?

Hmmm, that's not allowed in my racing orgs due to not being able to catch all leaking coolant into belly-pan.

I suspect it won't work as well since airflow won't be as much as in front. And air that does make it through will be hotter. Will most likely result in roasted-nuts syndrome...

Before you panic, watch your coolant temperature gauge for a while and see what you learn. Stock 250s have way more cooling than they need, at least in NC in the hottest part of summer. Liquid cooled engines don't have a lot of fins for heat transfer, so they don't heat the air going past them as much as air cooled engines do. The only concern I'd have would be the speed of the air flowing through the radiator.

An advantage of having it in the rear location is protection from rocks and other debris.

That location should be fine as long as the electric fan is still on the radiator.

Looks interesting, but again as is prominently pointed out, may adversely affect cooling. What's filtering the air for the carbs?

Good question, Tom. You sure don't want to run very long without at least some Uni filters.

Now I can say I've seen everything. What's next, front wheel drive?

There are front wheel drive motorcycles, and also all wheel drive, albeit either expensive, concepts, prototypes, or all of the above.

There's even a motorcycle that turns into a jetski.

The best thing about those motorcycles is that they aren't mine.

Carbs have pods, just not installed when I took pic. I think I will leave it and see how it goes. Thanks for the input!
