New biker and Ninjetter in TX
Hello all I'm Zach!
Great to have found this place. Probably the single most active and helpful Ninja forum I have come across since searching for some answers in the past week. Spent some time in the Army, going back to school at University of North Texas for a Liberal Arts Degree in History and hope to be a history teacher soon. Also a single full time dad to two squirts who drive me crazy lol. That was one reason for the bike. Other main one is I commute about 100 miles a day, maybe more. Anyway I bought a 2008 Ninja 250r with about 23k miles on it. It needs some work (was not as advertised) but I think I can get it up to par with some help on here. I'm not an electrical guy thats for sure. I can do nuts and bolts type of mechanical work but man, when it comes to things like these carbs and petcocks I am totally lost in the sauce on how y'all can get that stuff done. Apologies for droning on, but yeah, that's me in a nut shell. Here’s my project thread https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=384209 Last futzed with by Zpatton; September 18th, 2022 at 08:20 AM. |

Welcome, you'll be knee-deep in carbs and petcocks before you know it! It's not all that hard, and you have a great bike to learn with.
100 miles a day? I had a commute like that, did it on 2 wheels for almost three years. Never had an incident, but saw some crazy stuff, near misses etc. Now I just ride canyons for fun. Get good protective gear; those two little squirts are the most important thing in the world. History majors run in my family. Props to you for teaching, inspire the spirit of learning within every student!

Haha well you’re one of the first. I’m actually going to paint it. I just need something low key for now. The fairings themselves aren’t damaged but some of the tabs for the screws are, so after watching some DIY YouTube videos I’ve started painting them gloss black.
Later on when I have more time and more funds for cosmetic work on the bike I’ll get new fairings. |

I love me some bright colors. Husband laughs at me because I care about color and am not happy with the "usual" colors- black, red, blue. I want to stand out, dangit!

I've found my next colour scheme!!! Saw this in red and really liked it, so I re-coloured it in yellow! Mine will have yellow rim-tape. Whatcha think?
