crampbuster $6 at CG

http://www.cyclegear.com/CycleGear/A.../p/34202_00000

Cycle Gear has the crampbuster for $6 so I decided to give it a shot. I got the smaller diameter CB2. Was it the correct size?

I actually picked it up in person and just wanted to confirm.

I eyeballed the grip and it looks to be a shade under 1 3/16" so CB2 should be the right size according to their website.

Mine doesn't have the model number on it..but it is the skinny one of their options.

Personally I didn't like it... have to keep it nearly off to use the throttle w/ the CB not in the way. Then while underway, try to move it onto grip.

I have big hands, so that might be part of it.

The one you show in link looks like the cruiser model..and twice as wide as mine.

You should check out this one...Go Cruise Motorcycle Throttle Lock

It seems better because it goes on the inside of the throttle, so you can move your hand a little further outside if need be. The problem with the crampbuster (so I've read) is that is must stay completely on the throttle, which doesn't give your hand much room to move.

I wasn't really looking for a cruise control device. At least not yet. Just something that would let me open up my hand.

Video from the same guy

The crampbuster won't hold the throttle open if you take your hand off. It just makes it so that you can hold/twist the throttle open with an open grip.

That is 1st one I had, and I swapped to a CB instead.
The problem w/ that one is vibrations!!!! It won't hold throttle very long at all @ highway speed.
It may work better w/ grips like his that 1st video review, mine however were exactly like his grips in 2nd video. I found adding tape under the rubber band helped, but still didn't hold for more than a min or two.
