Cruise Control Thoughts... (not throttle locks)

Anyone interested in doing an actual cruise control similar to the ones used in our cars/trucks? I don't particularly like the idea of a throttle lock and I'd rather have the ability to precisely control the accel/decel and the bike would be able to correct itself for uphill/downhill maneuvers within 1 mile a hour. Others are using a universal system on the sport touring bikes to achieve this. I little waterproofing, electrical connections, and some vacuum routing seems to be the process.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I have attached the schematic used for the typical installation.

*Love* the cruise control on my RT. The reviews on aftermarket cruise controls on bikes have never been terribly positive, but perhaps things have gotten smoother in recent years.

The FJR guys seem to love their universal systems. Other than a single other option from Australia that cost almost $1k, the universal system seems to be the best option. I did read of a few bugs they had to work out and the addition of a vacuum canister seems to have this farkle bulletproof.

I don't know about the install but think it would be awesome! I had factory cruise on my Street Glide and it worked perfectly. I get by with the Throttlemeister on my 250 but a real cruise control is leaps and bounds above a throttle lock and much easier to use, also allowing you to use the cruise more often. I will be following this thread as I'm very interested.

I like the cruise control on the new Mercedes. Can we try that?

I need someone thats knows our bikes electrical system well to tell me from the above attached schematic, if we have everything needed for it to work.

Also need to know if our 250's make enough vacuum for it to work. Space for it may also be an issue. I'm thinking since I removed my airbox, maybe it could be installed in that area.
