mystery part hanging from my engine

Could someone tell me what this is/how to put it back? It fell out of my engine randomly. bike seems to run normally.
2002 ninja 250 with a k&n filter.

Hi Gary,

That is your sidestand safety switch. Mount it back up when you can.

*EDIT* I might be an idiot, that may be the kickstand switch. Center stand maybe? AFAIK the side stand switch looks different. Regardless, it's part 27010 on the diagram below.
*2nd EDIT* Yep, side stand switch.
