Windscreen Blackout
So, I didn't like the look of the clear windscreen, but I didn't know if I wanted to get something aftermarket since the windscreen is almost 100% aesthetic for me, and none of the reliable aftermarket windscreens I was finding were black, they were all dark smoke at best.
So, I just went to town on the back of it with a can of plasti-dip. Took me quite a few layers to get it to the point where it was no longer transparent, but it didn't require any more prep than just washing the windscreen off and letting it dry. The finished product looks perfect to me, and I'm thinking of peeling it and doing it with red sometime, or possibly a decal or racing stripe instead. EDIT: I also did a front reflector delete. Totally forgot about that. I just removed the front reflector discs, unscrewed the post bolts with a 10mm socket, and swapped them out for a couple of the bolts under my tail seat. Looks clean and OEM this way. ^_^ |

Oggy Nobs!
My oggy nobs came in, so I took to the pain in the butt task of installing them. I say it was a pain in the butt because I chose not to remove my gas tank, which would have inarguably made it MUCH easier.
The construction of them is amazing though, they feel super sturdy, and I really trust that they'll save me some paint (or plastic) in the event of a low-slide. I am however thinking of doing a little modification to them. Nothing to change the function, but just cosmetic stuff. Possibly paint the nob itself red, and the aluminum black. Not a fan of the random silver on the bike. |

Random red accents
Some stuff came in the mail. (Yay china)
Red gas cap bolts really pop and make the whole thing come together. But I'm thinking of getting it powder coated either pure black, or red. Not a fan of the grey. Red and black steering stem cap to get rid of the old silver cap. Why they didn't go with a black cap, I'll never know, since that stock silver cap sticks out like a sore thumb. Red rear break fluid cap. Again, just for a pop of color. Exact same dimensions as the OEM, the guard still fits on it, and it delivers some color into an otherwise drab and overlooked area. (Also helps detract from that darn stock exhaust!) |

Pro-Bolt fairing bolts
Not too many pics, just a couple for color, size, and contrast. I got these from https://www.probolt-usa.com/ to get rid of even more silver tones on the bike. The fairing bolt set they sell comes with bolts for every exposed fairing bolt on the bike and then some. I've also got another set coming from them (on backorder) that I'll be installing and taking pics of when possible.

Motodynamics Fender Eliminator
Finally got the fender eliminator installed. Good riddance to that big, clunky fender, hello sleek, LED lit eliminator!

Motodynamics integrated tail light
WOOO! I was super excited about this one. I got the smoked version, and it turned out great. Hardest part about install was getting the screws out and back in though, because they're at such odd places.
The sequential turn signals work flawlessly, and the break light flasher is super visible, much more so than normal. |

Swingarm Sliders & Kickstand plate
Got around to installing these mods. The beefier swingarm sliders to cushion it from some damage, which still being functional to lift the bike with, and the kickstand plate to extend the amount of surface on the ground. Tested it out on some gravel, dirt, even a sand patch, and it's worth it's weight in gold. ^_^

Spiegler SS Brake Lines + more
Since today was a rainy day and work was slow, I finished installing my Spiegler SS Brake lines. Also flushed the coolant system and swapped out to Engine Ice, and replaced some engine cover bolts (None that hold high stress) with decorative red aluminum engine kit bolts from Pro-Bolt.

Ermax Rear Tire Hugger
Just finished installing the Ermax Rear Tire hugger that arrived yesterday. Had to dremel a small notch in it under where the rear MC sits due to fitment issues with the ABS model, but other than that it's a perfect fit. It's also extended out further than OEM, so I get less spray, which is nice with the fender eliminator installed. =P

Painted Exhaust
So, I got tired of how my exhaust looked. Mainly the heat shields since the steel color really doesn't mesh well with the black and red of the bike. So I got myself a couple cans of Rust-oleum FlexiDip (Red, and Gloss), and went to work painting both the heat shields. Only prep needed was a thorough cleaning, then letting them dry. Overall, I think they came out fantastic. The huge stock exhaust looks much more bearable now, so I can save my pennies for the exhaust I really want somewhere way down the line. (Scorpion Serket Carbon Fiber full system or slip-on, can't decide!)

New Grips & Exhaust Hanger
Got two packages in the mail at once!
Some chinese grips to replace the boring OEM grips (Which aren't very ergonomic, at least for me), they look like Rizomas, except without the logo (which I would've tried to hide anyway, I'm not a logo/decal person). A Yoshimura Exhaust Hanger. I know, I know "Doesn't work with stock exhaust!". Well, I made it work. I bought a longer 10x1.25 Metric bolt (75mm long iirc) and used the stock spacers. The only real modification I had to make was turning the exhaust about 4 degrees towards me. I'm planning to get an aftermarket exhaust soon~ish, so I've saved the original Yoshi hardware for the time being. Also, an update on my Flexi-Dip of my exhaust heat shields; another 100+ miles run, and they're holding up great. No discoloration, bubbling, cracking, peeling, etc. Cleaning them is easy with warm soapy water and a sponge, even when the main heat shield melts a bit of rubber off of my boot. |

You shouldn't have to touch the tank to install those Oggy Knobs. Maybe it was because you didn't have the right tools? I found them pretty easy to install, lol.

Not 100% sure why they gave me so much trouble. Even with every size of wrench and socket known to man, I just wound up having to move the tank. What would've allowed me to not move the tank?

Not sure why you had an issue. Maybe the differences of brand of tools were different dimensions?
