Strange Vibrations on 5G at 7K RPM
Dear Friends,
After replacing my CAM chain tension’er recently, I am observing a strange "Humm" and “vibration” coming from the front of my bike in 5th Gear at 7k RPM. The vibration is also felt in the left foot peg only. This ‘Humm’ and ‘vibration’ is sequential in timing and disappears once I cross 8k rpm and are not metallic and seems tht it comes from engine, I suppose. Also, I have noticed this same ‘vibration’ and ‘Humm’ at a smaller scale in 4&3 rd gear at 5K rpm. During bike test on Dyno, this problem didn’t come but driving the bike on road reveals this issue. Mechanic wasn’t able to identify the problem so I am asking you all here if anybody have faced this similar problem, if so then kindly share your experience. I have tightened my CAM chain still the problem exists. What more should I check for its rectification. Regards, Abhishek |

Hello Hernan,
Mine is a 2011 model and the need for the replacement is because I was getting a high tickling noise on idling, and sometimes on the run too. So the cam chain tensioner was replaced. Since then only i am having this problem, this isnt a metallic vibration. |

I would check the final drive's chain for excessive slack or wear, as well as the small sprocket.
I would also check the proper torque of the bolts anchoring the engine to the frame.
