College Park Tuning 2013 car/bike show - Let's Ride!

It's time again for the College Park Tuning show! I grew up in College Park and even though I don't live there anymore, it's a great show for a great cause. April 21, 2013 at the old Bowie Baysocks stadium, now it's Prince George's stadium.

Last year I rode my customized Ruckus about two hours there, met up with some other Ruckers about halfway and we all rode in together. This year it would be great to ride in with bikers. I organized the Ruckus meet up and ride, so I guess I'll try to organize one for us.

Full disclosure, we won't be going there at a blistering pace. A few of my friends just got licenses and their first bikes. If you want to ride with some pretty cool people and don't mind not doubling the speed limit, let's make this thing happen!

Maybe we'll do the same run the scooter guys did last year, College Park IKEA to Bowie. Took just under an hour on the scoots, we can probably do it in 30 or less. All bikes welcome.

We can exchange contact information later in case people get lost or can't make it so we're not waiting for you.

Right now I've got one Ninja 250 rider.... and that's my wife Got at least 2 FZ6R guys joining up, and then my usual group of friends on GS and EX 500s. We don't ride stupid but look forward to a nice ride.

I am definitely interested and should be able to make it and i might be able to drag another rider into it who has a 300

My thoughts, if we are meeting up to ride to this place lets make it an actual ride

I mapped out one of my favorite route in this area. It is about as good as the riding gets around here.

Would be a nice cruise to the place

Most of us are coming from the Gaithersburg but I'll see a few guys tomorrow and see what they think.

25 minutes from Laurel if you take 28/Norbeck/198 in from Rockville across.

35 min or so on beltway. Just a hope skip and a jump really.

Looks like an hour there and an hour back is gonna be enough on the noobies. Also, 9 of us live in and around Rockville. Looks like anyone who wants to join can either meet us in Rockville or pick a spot along the way to wait for us and we'll stop.

Subxero, I would LOVE to ride that route sometime. We should setup an MD ride.

will have to think about a date that works. I should be free, 4/20, (he he ) and the following weekend, and a few weekends in May not including the first weekend.

Alright, talked to a friend of mine who helps arrange the show every year. He said if we don't roll through the gates by about 10am, we might have to park down the street. No thanks.

Also, we've got 9 people within about 5 miles of my house in Gaithersburg near Lake Forest Mall. We're gonna aim to leave my place around 8am. If you wanna roll out with us, PM for an address and phone number. Around 9am we'll stop in Prince George's county near a friend of mine who's gonna ride with us. Maybe grab a quick bite at McDonalds and use the bathroom or something. If you're closer to PG, we can pick you up at 9am.

If you're coming for sure, shoot me a PM with your real name and a cell phone number. Last year we waited 45 minutes for someone who never showed. That sucked.

hmmm i'm still up in the air yet but thinking more towards yes than no. I will think it over the next day or so and get back to you with a definitive answer.

Roughly where in PG county you picking up your friend. I could probably just meet you guys there to make things simple.

He lives in Hyattsville, but last year we met at the McDonalds in Greenbelt, the one across from the mall and where PG keeps all the school buses. It's also right over the hill from Kennilworth ave and 495 exits.

As of right now i am still in for Sunday but, this rides on a few things. I am planning on working on my bike Saturday so if i get everything i need done and the bike works well i will ride on Sunday. If not... well no running bike = no riding.

I have a game plan so lets hope it works.

RIDE OVER Good show!

Good ride yesterday. A little chilly in the AM, i had about a 45min ride to meet the other guys and then we proceeded on a nice lazy cruise through MD. Unfortunately i had to skip out of the Car show to get back to my place as i had a lot going on but the ride to and from was what i was really looking forward to, but i do wish i had more time to relax at the show and then keep riding all day but responsibility calls. Ill leave it to @MistahT to give a better write up as it was him who organized it.

Yeah it was fun. A lot of people bailed at the last minute, but we had a good group. Sometimes a group that's too big isn't as much fun. Cruise was nice, ride back was nice. The show was a little light compared to years past. I'm trying to put together a little video but Windows Live Movie Maker keeps crashing. Makes me want to throw my computer out the window

I rode through the area on Saturday instead of Sunday. Lots of bikes out and about Saturday. From what I saw there were groups of Busas with stretched swing arms. Sunday I saw groups of Harley riders in the Carolinas and Georgia.
