'12 rear brake woes

Seems like this is the Ninja that won't stop throwing some kind of tantrum. Or maybe it is the guy turning the wrench...lol

Anyways, I had the issue of the rear brake not engaging. the pedal would go "to the floor" but would in no way engage the rear caliper. So I ordered a master cylinder rebuild kit, replaced the spring, rubber spacer, piston, and dust cover. Bolted all together, DOT4 added, and during bleeding it is doing the same thing. So testing at each bolt, there is liquid bleeding from each when loosened, but no fluid bleeding out of the bleeder on the caliper itself.

THAT is when I noticed that the hole in the banjo bolt does not line up with the hole in the brake line. Both washers are on the line, and I did compress the pistons and they gave nearly no resistance to the c-clamp. Am I missing something, or does it sound like a caliper rebuild/replacement?

Hole in banjo shouldn't matter because banjo is bowed outwards all around outside So there's gap for fluid to flow all around bolt to reach hose.

Have link to master rebuild kit?

I would say it is generally a good idea to change the master and the caliper at the same time.

I figured it would work that way, but you never know. I ordered this one.

Thanks, it looks like I just may be doing that.

Did you inspect bore of master-cylinder for roughness or corrosion?

Let's separate Master & Servant to isolate where problem may be.

1. disconnect banjo-bolt at master outlet
2. cap off hole with single crush-washer and short 10mm bolt.
3. step on brake-pedal

Is it firm and immovable?
