Are there any ways to prevent having our kickstand dragged? aside from riding position/technique

ZOMG, blink, you have chicken strip left! You suck!

J/K

I'll post pics of my chicken strips after I go roast them on some 100 degree roads for an hour or two!

I have BT016 150/60 Rear and 110/70 Front and still have a bit of chicken strips. My dad says because of the "pinch" I cant lean far and will always have them. Does anyone with these tires have this problem??

You can grind it down and keep your kickstand. You will only loose the kickstand safety switch. It's on my to-do list.

or just do as kkim says

@Mr. kkim yes sir, I'm working on that (:
@drew that'll be awesome if you can do a DYI for it (:

I'm also planning to make my suspension stiffer, by adjusting the preload adjusters and lowering my rearsets a lil bit. I also tend to ride on lower gears/higher rpms, making my bike more upright, I personally thik i drag less parts this way.

Damn, I feel really bad right now. how the hell do you guys do that? I've been trying but it's just impossible to ride like that in a city or am I wrong?

The first picture was taken when I just got the bike, the other two are now (1 month later)

"track wear" goes off the edge of the tire...

I remember reading statistics that showd that bikes usually low-sided on the exhaust side, which implied that the extra weight caused you to lean too far more often on the exhaust side and, thus, you would generally "turn better" on that side until you crashed it.

I just know that's what my BRC instructor told us and something I have read in a few places. I believe he told us turning left was easier because it's usually a wider, clean turn (opposite should apply for those folks who drive on the wrong side ).

We were just told to make sure we practice turning in both directions and eventually it would even out.

We love chicken strips, but almost always have left-overs!

iirc it's lorenzo's tire... maybe from stepping his rear out too much under braking+turn in? pretty cooked though

I hope this thread doesn't cause some new riders to go out and try to get rid of their chicken strips and get in over their heads. Be sensible out there folks! Chicken strips or lack thereof are not an indicator of your skill as a rider. Especially not on the street.

Too late guys I'm just back from a little trip on the parking lot
I already posted a pic of my huge 3 cm chickenstrips and tonight I decided to go out to work al little on them.
No worries, I was in full gear and never going faster than 20 km/h. These are the results, I'm pretty glad with them
I always ride in full gear and as safe as possible!! I did it step by step and very carefully (after all I wouldn't want to scratch/drop my bike)
