1. Go to the BAR website (Bureau of Automotive Repair) and learn about your rights 2. Chances are probably 80/20 the only thing that was wrong with your steering was a lack of grease in the steering shaft or one of the u-joints/couplers. Max cost of maybe $50 to fix if you don't own the tools. |

I think the mechanic was wrong to do that. The people who fix my bike with me always agree to contact me before doing anything expensive.

The issue isn't what the repair cost. If he would have fixed something else and charged me $100 for it I would be just as pissed because I didn't authorize it. Again issue was what he did, not what it cost
